Experience with reactive dogs 🐶
Pet care experience
For the past 3 years, I have taken over care of my family’s fearful reactive German Shepards and help with daily care of the 2nd GSD in the home. They were pandemic puppies and my family soon realized how difficult the learning curve is for these type of dogs! What at first was a family effort, turned into my niece and I taking care of them. We’ve emergency fostered an abused dog for about a month and I managed to safely introduce our reactive GSD to the new dog in her space! It had its challenges but I am grateful to that experience. The fostered dog left our house not scared of people anymore and ready to interact with other dogs! We’ve received pictures and video and she’s thriving in her new home.

At this time I don’t offer boarding to our reactive GSD (who is in dog school), but we have a fenced in yard and they each have a crate.

A typical day
I’d like to do indoor training and puzzles to mentally stimulate them and walks around your neighborhood! During the walks, we could work on training as well.

Availability
I work a hybrid remote job and doing check-ins and walks are doable in the morning and early afternoon for me. I can make myself available during the weekends as well, as needed.
