20 yrs Vet Med Exp

Pet care experience

***COVID 19 Update*** At this time I am having to restrict bookings to current clients only as I am getting more requests for new clients than I can manage in a safe manner during the pandemic. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and I hope to be able to open again to new clients soon. Thank you. Welcome, I am Amanda, and of course, I am an animal lover. After graduating with a BS in Animal Science, I returned to work for the same small animal veterinary hospital I started working at as a teenager. I worked my way up from kennel assistant, to receptionist, to technician, to surgery technician, to assistant manager, and finally to practice manager over a span of 20 years. A few years ago I have decided to take a step back from veterinary medicine management and take a more direct focus on what I love, animals. I have been pet sitting in addition to my work in veterinary medicine for over 15 years. I learned the business from my mother, who pet sat for most of my childhood. I always loved accompanying her on her visits and upon her retirement from pet sitting, I took over several of her best clients when I was just a teenager. My husband and I have two dogs and two cat. I enjoy taking my dogs through obedience and agility training. I practice only positive reinforcement training. Why would I be your best choice? - 20 years working as a technician/manager in veterinary medicine - BS in Animal Science - 5+ years Agility and obedience training experience - Experience giving oral, topical, and injectable medications - Business management experience - Insured - 15+ years of pet sitting experience - A friendly and calm demeanor - Flexible schedule - Reliable transportation year round (with back up vehicle in an emergency) I do require any pet leaving their fenced in yard with me to be up to leashed and up to date on their rabies vaccination. I do also require dogs to be friendly with people (me especially) and cats to be reasonably friendly. Senior pets with medications or other specials needs are fine (please no critical care needs).

Amanda was truly wonderful. We contacted her Thursday, had a meet and greet Friday, and she came Saturday to let the dogs out and spend a little time with them. My two pups can be crazy and super defiant and she has a way with dogs like no other. We have found our match and will be using Amanda more regularly in the future.

Amanda watched Chester our golden and George our Beagle. Prior to our scheduled trip she stopped by to meet the boys and understand there personalities and needs. Once we left Amanda was prompt but more importantly she took amazing care of the boys. She took pictures and sent use regular updates and outlined any concerns. Amanda did a amazing job and the boys had a great time. We hope she will watch them again in the future.
