Hey there! I'm an MSU grad with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. I do seasonal field work and pet care is my off-season career. I have over ten years of cumulative pet care experience in kennels, grooming salons, and as a professional dog walker and sitter in Washington, DC. I'm comfortable with all sizes and breeds of dogs and can offer some basic training on walks if that's something you're looking for. I'm also very comfortable caring for cats, reptiles, fish, and other types of pets. Just ask! Please reach out with questions on services, rates, or availability. Alyssa did a great job walking Winnie and made sure to keep in mind all of Winnie's little eccentricities! I loved receiving updates with pictures and notes about the walk-- always the highlight of my lunch breaks! Can't say enough great things about Alyssa! Our pup was walked by a number of walkers, but Alyssa's interaction with Jackson really stood out. Jackson LOVED her and she paid close attention to detail in our walking requests (need for exercise!) and understood his anxiety (often mistaken for aggression). Immediately we turned to Alyssa to stay with Jackson at our home in our absence. Jackson is always tired and happy when we return. Also, the house is always immaculate upon our return, which is tough with Jackson's shedding! Alyssa also left us with a detailed timeline of Jackson's activities and always sends the sweetest pictures of him (one we even framed). Finding Alyssa was a blessing for us after moving to D.C. knowing no one. We fully trust her in our home and with our furry child!

I need to know a dog's behavioral quirks/issues and how they interact with other dogs. Even if the dog park isn't on the table, it's always possible to encounter other dogs while walking.
A typical day
I tend to seek out green areas for walks. Hour-long walks give more options to explore parks and nature trails. If you're comfortable with your dog leaving the immediate area of your property I'm also happy to drive them to a nice trail! But this should be discussed beforehand.
