LARGE BREED EXPERIENCED DOG SITTER!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Alyssa Weldon and I am an aspiring surgical nurse. Currently, I am wrapping up my schooling by finishing up my online classes. I am home full time! I take my business extremely seriously and am very knowledgeable with many breeds due to currently assisting with training dogs at my local shelters and setting them up for success to be adopted. I do basic training, behavioral training (jumping, barking, aggression towards other people or animals, anxiety, crate training, etc) and am also just starting to get involved with tactical K9 training for law enforcement dogs. I do not discriminate against ANY breed. Working in animal shelters it made me realize that many of these dogs that end up at these shelters are really there by fault of the owner and lack of owner education rather than the animal itself. Dogs just want to be shown that they are loved, safe, and appreciated. I do not have any children. I am blessed to have a giant yard for high energy dogs. A typical day in my home is very simple and accommodating to your dog. Pups who come here for the first time, for the first couple of days I will assess them based on their behavior with me in a different territory. It’s very important for owners to understand that just because your dog is good with other animals at home with you or out in public places doesn’t predict their behavior in a completely new environment without you present. The reason I keep dogs separated at first is to focus on building a bond with your animal so I’m able to show him/her that he is safe with me and nothing that enters the home is a threat. This is crucial to have your pup have the best experience here so they aren’t living in anxiety being away from their home while they are here with me. I have a very leader/momma bear type personality when it comes to dogs. Dogs sense my energy very well and many owners are pleased to see their shy dog warm up within minutes. I never rush into meet and greets with your animal or others because it’s unnecessary. Every approach I take is customized for your dog to make sure they have the best experience here with me. My #1 goal is to make your pup feel at home so he doesn’t result to typical fear based characteristics dogs will resort to when they feel uneasy or uncomfortable ie aggression, running away/darting, cowering, hiding, growling, baring teeth etc. My fiancé and I currently live here in Manteca in a two story temporary home until our property in Reno, Nevada is finished getting built and are anticipating to have it completed within the next year and a half. We just purchased five acres and began our build of our dream home ❤️ All dogs stay mostly inside throughout the day and night except for playtime and potty breaks. Dogs are never left unsupervised in the backyard or left alone with other animals. If I were to leave to run an errand briefly, Your pup would be secured in a big crate in one of our bedrooms paired with his bed, toys, bones bowls etc. I crate animals while I am away for their own safety as well as to prevent any damage to my home as a result of separation anxiety. As mentioned before, I have a strategic approach when it comes to your pup’s stay and have yet to have anything tragic such as animal fight occur or an animal get out and escape while in my care. I never mix other families dogs with each other without my own assessment of each dog and approval from owners of both dogs. I have built a clientele of over 250 dogs who are considered regulars and have stayed more than once at my home ranging from all types of breeds. Primarily, I do watch a lot of larger dogs (over 40 lbs) because of the demand of an inhome large breed dog sitter here in the Central Valley. If you take a look at my photo gallery, you will see that I do watch a lot of little dogs too! Little dogs are always separated from larger dogs unless they come together as a family. Little dogs are just as spoiled here and tend to spend most of their stay in my sweatshirt, on my lap, or following me around the house while bigger pups play outside. I have no preference when it comes to breed and have welcomed in my home 5 lb chihuahuas to 150 pound Great Danes. Throughout your pup’s stay you will receive updates and pictures throughout the day so your able to put your mind at ease knowing your fur baby is having a blast here ! For an additional cost, I also do pick ups and drop offs to your home if you’d like me to pick your animals up from your house to bring them to mine rather than you drop off . Many folks like this option especially if they are on their way to a wedding or just appreciate the convenience of not having to leave their home and drive to my house. I’m willing to offer pick up and drop off services and am willing to travel up to 75 miles! I also offer bathing services upon request. Many clients love this option as well especially if it’s raining and very muddy outside! I truly want the best experience for you and your fur babies. I know how much these animals mean to their owners and only offer the best care that can be possibly given to them. ❤️ My card is located in my photo gallery with my contact information if you’d like to hear from me directly. I look forward to hearing from you and watching your fur babies! *I also watch cats, hamsters, rabbits , birds, reptiles and many other caged animals. Feel free to ask me about caring for them as well while your away and we can discuss more !*

Alyssa is the best dog boarder we've used. Our dog was still clean when picked up and got plenty of exercise and care. He has a tendency to not eat with boarders but she took time to coax him into eating his food. We highly recommend Alyssa.

Alyssa took great care of our Maggie. She was very happy and tired when she came home. I appreciate Alyssa taking her on such short notice.

Alyssa was amazing! Quick to respond, super sweet and very patient, she was very accommodating to my pup who has separation anxiety, taking the extr steps to make him feel at ease which made me feel at ease knowing he was in her hands for the weekend, she was so caring. Definitely rebooking with her (-:

Information Alyssa W. would like to know about your pet

I have zero Breed preferences. I would like to know your dogs feeding schedule, allergies, medication (if needed). Is your dog allowed on furniture ? What’s a typical day for your pup at home so I can best accommodate with a similar schedule at my home . Does your dog exhibit any strange behavior I should be aware about? Odd things your dog may do, so I don’t worry.

A typical day

I live close to a park for lots of walks and play time. My living room is full of toys. I have a huge backyard for the doggies to stretch their legs. I am very active so lots of fun is a must !!!
