Caring for your pets as my own!
Pet care experience
If you choose me to care for your pets, you are ensuring that they will be getting the love that they deserve while you are away. I have been surrounded by dogs my whole life but have about 10 years of dog sitting and animal shelter experience. During my breaks from school, I spent my time back at home working at the Iowa County Humane Society where I had been employed for about 4 years. This job has given me extensive experience with medication/vaccination administration, animal socialization and exercise, and skills/commands training. I am also CPR/First aid certified for dogs. I want you to feel safe each time you leave your furry best friend with me, so I will do everything in my power to live up to your expectations. If there are specific things you would like me to do with your dog while they are in my care, I would be more than happy to do so.
Reviews
Alyssa was fantastic! She took great care of our dog and home. She provided frequent updates. Highly recommend as we will definitely use her in the future!
Alyssa was so communicative and clearly has a huge love of animals. She was so timely, organized, and prepared. So reliable and trusty.
Alyssa was awesome. She was very personable when we first met. She showed up in the windows I asked. She gave me updates with great pics. I forgot to tell her she could throw the containers of food I packed for the dog into the dishwasher after feeding and I walked in today to find that she had hand washed everything. She really went above and beyond with that. I highly recommend her for anyone that needs someone to take care of your pet. We will definitely be using her in the future.
Alyssa goes above and beyond making sure our pups are happy and also caring for our home. She is really exceptional!

Have other pets other than dogs? No problem. I am willing to work with any animals! Many of the bookings that I've completed included me staying the night at the client's home. I am happy to provide this service and feel that it can offer extra comfort for the pets! I make sure to ask about the neighborhood and be aware of other animals or triggers that could put your pet's safety at risk.
Information Alyssa S. would like to know about your pet
I am open to taking any size or breed, given that their behavior won't be a concern. Some things I'd like to know include: -Are your pets taking any medications? Or any other medical concerns I should know of? -How does your dog get along with other animals and people? -How do you deal with bad behavior or reward good behavior? (If you have a special training regime, I want to keep them on track!) -Do they have any behavioral issues, such as resource guarding?
A typical day
If you have a high-energy, active dog, they can expect to go on walks with me throughout local parks! My dog is an old boy who can't walk too much, so I would love the chance to exercise your dog and even work on some basic skills while we are at it. If your dog is more like mine and likes to lay around all day, they can expect lots of snuggles and belly rubs!

Availability
I currently work in Chicago on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and some Thursday and/or Friday mornings. Otherwise, I am working from home and available to meet your petsitting needs! Most of my weekends are open for petsitting and I try to be flexible with bookings throughout the week as well.
