I was seven years old when my grandmother first adopted a puppy named Daisy for me. Ever since then, I’ve had a passion for animals, have always had pets, and now have a rescued dog of my own. I have experience with all kinds of breeds and sizes, I know how to perform pet CPR and first aid, and can give oral and topical medications. I have experience in caring for older and disabled dogs, so if you have a dog with special needs, you can feel secure knowing I have experience in this area. I have also fostered several dogs in the past, and am pleased to say that I was able to get all of them adopted into loving homes. In the past I worked at an animal hospital and an animal boarding facility which allowed me to meet many different dogs and cats and learn more about each one. I understand animal body language and know how to behave around a angry or scared animal and deescalate the situation. Finally, I have volunteered at shelters by walking, playing with and cleaning dogs and their living areas, and was inspired to work in pet-care through these past experiences. I speak to my clients in a respectful and understanding way and make sure to listen to their concerns and needs for their dog. Overall, I am a thoughtful, respectful and kind caregiver who is always thinking of others and is passionate about providing amazing customer service for my clients by tailoring my care to their specific needs. With the dogs, I take things slow and talk to them in a calm voice, often getting on their level so they know I’m someone who respects them and can be trusted. I will always take the time to allow pets to trust me and feel comfortable with me. Especially with more unsure and nervous pets. I also know how to break up dog fights in the unfortunate event that one may occur. Working with animals in a boarding facility, shelter, and fostering dogs has taught me this.
