Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Alyssa, but I got by Aly. I'm currently an animal care tech who works with dogs on a daily at a doggy daycare. Both in and out of work I love to take care of and spend time with dogs and cats! I've had pets all my life from various cats, to Pomeranians, Pitbulls, Great Danes, and even a snake! I pride myself on going through constant animal tech care training, being able to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments, physical activity, and even disabilities! I've had to administer medications, wipe down and grook animals, do extensive training and exercise with animals, etc. I find it all very rewarding!

When going on walks I always prefer to use two leads. One lead is the owners and the second is my very own slip lead, this ensures that if I lose grip of one lead that I still have a secure watch on the other and can make sure nothing bad occurs. This is also something I do at work. Secondly I truly believe in positive reinforcement for best results. That can be done in treats, monitored bone/snacking, pb Kong's, or even toy time. Bark collars and shock collars can be temporary fixes but I truly don't think they fix things long term and prefer to used canned air or pressured air that doesn't overstimulate the dogs. It's always a plus if you have a fenced yard but I will be moving to a new location in which I will have a fenced yard.

I have no breed preference. I just prefer that the dog or dogs I watch and take care of have a minimal level of obedience such as being able to stop and stay when told.
A typical day
I love taking dogs on walks around large parks, or close by lakes. I also think short to medium length hikes do some dog breeds really well. I also love taking dogs to go play at dog parks and playing activities like fetch, frisbee toss, ball, etc.

Availability
I currently am working roughly around 30 hours a week sometimes a bit less. I have fairly open availability for walks, baths, light grooming, and drop ins if need be. Just let me know what you have in mind!
