Proceeds Help Local Shelter Dogs!

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Alyssa! I am the co-owner at Walk Your Doggo. I operate in Lafayette, West Lafayette and NW Indiana. Partial proceeds from all bookings are donated to local Indiana no-kill animal shelters. I have more than two decades of experience walking and caring for dogs of all energy levels, sizes, ages and abilities. I can also care for cats or any other house pet you may have. All new clients get a FREE 15-minute meet and greet. This allows me to better understand your needs and ensure it is the right fit for all of us. Willing to travel to Indianapolis, Chicago and NW Indiana for certain services! More about me: I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I've loved and cared for a blue heeler, greyhound, boxer, pug and pit bull. When I moved to Lafayette, I started volunteering at Natalie's Last Chance Dog Shelter, walking dogs of all breeds, ages and abilities. Many of these sweet dogs require extra attention, patience, love and care, and it has been a very rewarding experience. When you book with me, you will also be helping shelter dogs get the medical care, food and more that they need to find their forever home! *Please note that all new clients will receive a quote based on our discussion of your needs, day/time of scheduled booking and mileage. Final quote could be greater than the price listed here.

Alyssa has been very helpful caring for my two dogs during my long days at vet school. She's been very accomodating with my one dog who takes a little extra time being comfortable with new people. She is organized and communicates effectively and Nala & Waffles love hanging out with her! I'd highly recommend Alyssa for your pet sitting/dog walking needs!

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet's safety is my #1 priority, followed by my own. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR. Consistent safety procedures I have are: - I avoid all other humans and dogs on walks (I have confidence in myself and your dog, but cannot control others) - I never have the door open when your pet is not on a leash - I never give your pet treats without your consent - Before our first meeting, I will send you a short questionnaire that allows you the opportunity to tell me about any anxieties your pet may have, any commands you are working on using, and more.

Information Alyssa N. would like to know about your pet

Anything you can share about what your dog needs for me to keep them happy, healthy and safe is welcome (desired walking route, if they are a flight risk, etc.). Want to know more? Reach out with any and all questions and I will reply right away!

A typical day

I will walk your dog in your neighborhood for the time you have scheduled. For high energy dogs, it will be a fast-paced walk, and low energy dogs will get a more leisurely exercise. At the end of our walk, you will receive a Rover card with photos from our time together. It will also show you the route we took and will note if they went to the bathroom. Visits and sits will also receive real-time updates. I always make sure to engage with your pet when we are together. I am calm, confident and alert at all times.
