Pet care experience
I have worked with canines since I was 15, and I am currently a dog groomer in Bend, Oregon. I have worked in pitbull and little dog rescue, kenneling, the medical field, and used to work with the New York State Trooper canine unit. Because of my experiences there, I understand how important training sessions and keeping things similar on the day to day for your dog is. I also understand the importance of enrichment, patience, and love when it comes to working with animals. I have hands on experience working with dogs and cats in an animal hospital during my high school career, and have been dog sitting for over two years (sometimes even ten dogs at once; rescue worker-life!) I received a B.S. in Wildlife Science and have worked with multiple different species in the field. I enjoy giving my time and energy back to my community and would like to supplement my income working with animals. I would love to be able to bring my love for animals and my experience working with them to your home and your pets!

Alyssa has been helping me take care of my pet hedgehog for several months. She is extremely responsible and attentive to pets of all shapes and sizes, and does ample research in order to know the exact needs of your specific pet. She has cared for dogs of friends and coworkers, and treats them with love and care, as if they were her own!!

I prefer to watch animals in the space they are the most comfortable with. Changing an animals routine drastically can lead them to not want to eat at their normal schedule, or have other symptoms of anxiety.

A typical day
I love to come up with different enrichment tools and games to keep your dog both physically and mentally stimulated. If they aren’t interested in what we’re doing, I take the time to find something that fits their skill set and interest level! I love to get out into the woods and explore new areas your dog may not have seen before, allowing them an entirely new sensory experience!

Availability
I am surrounded by dogs on the daily, so tailoring my schedule to fit your pet comes naturally! I have an open availability around short days spent grooming dogs out of a locally owned grooming trailer, so time spent with your animal will be an easy first priority daily!
