Pet care experience
I’ve been taking care of dogs for as long as I remember! I grew up with a dark golden retriever as well as always playing with the neighbor’s 3 dogs! I now regularly dog and house-sit for those neighbors and others, along with 3 other families in the lake country area. Similarly, my brothers both have dogs that I often care for and take on walks. Simply put, I love dogs and love spending time and taking care of them! With the amount of energy dogs have, I believe they should be able to get outside and play often! But I also understand that people are busy and can’t always provide these opportunities as often as they would like. Therefore, I’d love to be able to provide these services for people and ensure their dogs are healthy and getting the attention, exercise, and love any and all dogs deserve!

Alyssa watched our beloved pup Leo for almost 17 days when we were out of town. She took exceptional care of him and kept in touch with us daily. When our flight plans unexpectedly changed due to a cancellation, Alyssa was able to extend Leos stay and accommodate the change in plans. We are so grateful and will definitely use her again!
Alyssa was great. Responsive. Flexible with scheduling. Best of all, our dog Maple really enjoyed staying with her.
Alyssa was great with my pup Dobby - this was my first time using Rover and everything went very smoothly. We traded emails halfway through the week about some issues with the weather, and she was very responsive. I would definitely use her again!

Similar to what I have described in the “Schedule” section. I love walking so I typically will walk dog(s) once or twice a day. I like to do that for a potty break instead of just standing outside with the dog. I allow pets on my furniture, I typically cover the couch in a large sheet/blanket. I always double-triple check with owners regarding food or plants or anything else one could get into and will move things/hide things if necessary. Lastly, always making sure there’s water and toys to play with!

Before confirmation and booking I like to know about schedule and any notable care things about the dog. I always ask potty schedule, feeding schedule and how they do in a car. And then I also always ask about furniture because I do not want to let someone’s dog on my furniture if they don’t allow in their own home. Want to keep rules consistent. I also always ask about plants and if they need to be put up higher or if food/garbage needs to be hidden/secure. And then normal care questions like walks and toys and things like that.
A typical day
I am a big fan of walks and hiking. So high energy and active dogs I love to take with me! Lots of my friends have doggos so if your dog is good with other dogs it’s fun to let them play, or walk or go to dog friendly places together. Otherwise mainly lots of walks, snuggles, pets and play!

Availability
I currently am working Thursday and Saturday days with Tuesday, Friday and some Saturday evenings. So while watching a dog I make sure I am up early enough to go for a morning walk, feed, and another quick potty break before I leave! And then typically I will do a nice long walk/hike when I get back depending on weather! I do sometimes pick up an extra serving/bartending shift during the week but I always make sure I’ll have time to take care of the dog(s) and devote as much time to them as much as can. For example I make sure I have a full day on the weekend for a long hike or take the dog swimming or lots of play, etc.
