Your pups new best friend :)

Pet care experience

Since I can remember I have always had a love for animals. Not just dogs but all animals in general. I find them fascinating, smart, funny- they bring people and my self so much joy and happiness. A little background on my 15 + years of experience handling dogs. I adopted my first pup almost over 14 years ago from Northshore animal League. Prior to that my mom and I had a mini Doberman pincher named Tito who passed away but lived up to 17 years ( our dogs live beautiful long lives) While Tito was still around and a bit older that’s when I adopted Pebbles, a terrier mix. Pebbles was truly my first dog and she has shown me so much throughout the years on how to be an excellent dog mom. She has shown me how to love, have patience, have fun and take of an animal who will always need your attention and love. What we fail to sometimes realize is how much we really need them. Pebbles has shown me patience’s and responsibility at such a young age and till this day, I continue to learn something new especially with her now getting older . Pebbles as mentioned is 14 years of age and doesn’t look a year older than 6 (haha). I then adopted a second dog 4 years ago from an organization that rescued dogs from Korea and gave a loving home to a 4 month old English bulldog. My second pups name is Sugar and she is a beautiful stubborn, high maintenance pup. I have had many dogs cross my path wether it’s a friends dog or my family who as well has had several dogs but Sugat sure has shown me what’s it is like to really take care of a dog. Bulldogs, are a beautiful breed but very high maintenance and I made sure before rescuing her to do my research so I would be prepared as I did not know how sugar would be or what she might possibly need coming from another country and also with not much background information on her. But when the time came I was fully prepared to take on any challenges I might have encounter. Thankfully, she has been healthy since day 1. She pretty much only suffers from seasonal allergies ( and that’s with both my pups) A day with sugar consist of cleaning her, ears, folds, behind and nail trimmings. The nail trimming are sure something else. It’s usually wrestle mania in the house but I get the job done. I pretty much keep my local veterinarian in business because of Sugar ( JK)- . To make a long story short about them, they are the best thing to have ever come into my life. They bring me joy and happiness during such difficult times like now. I have to admit I find my self spending time around animals a lot. If it’s not time with my friends dogs and also my mom who has a lab mix, grandfather who has Yorkie, aunt who had two Maltese pups and cavalier King Charles and now recently adopted a terrier mix, best friend who has a Pomskie and my other best friend who has a schnauzer- that I am consistently surrounded by dogs more then anything ( which is never s bad thing) and again I am always learning more and more about the needs of each dog and the best part the different breeds ! Benefits of patience: I have shown both my oldest pup and my most recent adopted pup to sit, lay down , give paw, stay, roll over, play dead by saying “ bang, bang”. As for my oldest pup Pebbles due to her age she has become hard of hearing and because of this we now work with commands using hand signals. She understands certain command by just simply using my hand. Animals are amazing and the amount of love and joy they bring to people always Amazes me. That’s why I would love to give back to my community and the communities near me with anyone who might need any form assistance, even if it’s in the evening or during weekend.

Alyssa is an amazing dog walker/sitter. She was very caring and attentive to my dogs needs even prior to the visit. Alyssa was extremely professional and and asked questions prior to the visit in order to know what to expect as well as know how to care for my two dogs. While there Alyssa took plenty of pictures and spent time with my dogs giving them the love and care they need that I am unable to provide while working late hours. I requested her assistance with short notice and she showed up bailing me out when I was in a jam. It was a blessing to have her come visit my dogs and would absolutely use her services again without hesitation.

This is the second time I’ve used alyssa and she saved me tonight. I got called to work overtime and she was able to last minute, come and see after Lucy my German Shepard puppy. Alyssa provided pictures and updates on her and Lucy’s time together. I can tell Lucy really likes her 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I have a very larger back yard but not to worry it is fenced in. They can play in the back and run loose as if it were at a doggy park. I do have two pups one is more active then the other. I have a 4 year old English bulldog who stays with me downstairs all the time and my first pup pebbles who as mentioned was adopted as well and she is a 14 year old terrier mix. She is usually upstairs with my mom and grandfather. I like to joke around and say she rents a doggie bed downstairs but really lives upstairs. My mother who lives upstairs has a mix lab who is about 7 and a yorkie who is about 8 years of age. I would only allow all dogs to play or be together based on the clients needs and wants for their pup. If requested or are there are special needs for your pup not to be around other animals, there would be no issues what so ever. I would kindly separated and place my pups upstairs to take care of your pets needs. Arrangements can easily be made so not to worry.

Information Alyssa B. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know if your dog has any special needs or behavior I can account for to make sure they are comfortable, feel safe and as well as so that you as the owner now your dog is in good hands. Which they would be :) . I would need to know If they require any type of oral meds etc. as mentioned the more information the better. It’s always good that both parties are on the same page. So communication is a big step in this process :) Regarding injected medications - I don’t currently have any pets or have any pets who requires that - but I am more then happy to learn if it’s something that can be taught easily.

A typical day

First and foremost, I would make sure to ask as many questions regarding the clients beloved best friend. We can go on walks, play in my big back yard. Go for walks down my block ( I live in a dead end street). I also like to take my pups to any local doggy park. One of my favorite parks is Blydenburgh County Park in smithtown. They have a lovely trail that leads to the water. It’s absolutely beautiful and they also have a fenced doggy area where the pups can play. If it’s a home visit or your pup requires to be taken out for walk or play time then we would Of course discuss your pets needs. I would never want to break a routine or schedule you might have your dog on. I love to train and show dogs tricks and commands and I have all the patience needed to train your pup on learning new tricks if requested. It would actually be my pleasure if wanted.
