Nurse on Hiatus

Pet care experience

I’ve been pet sitting/walking for 10+ years now and have experience with dogs of all sizes and ages as well as cats. Older dogs are my passion but I’m very comfortable and confident around all animals. Most animals I’ve sat for have required some kind of medication whether it be oral, inhaled, or injection, so I got you covered there. I like to be thorough in learning the pets routine so I can try and stick to it as close as possible while their humans are away :)

Safety, trust & environment

Like mentioned previously, I’m big on learning the pets usual routine and sticking to it to the best of my ability. I think this aids in reducing stress of pet parents being away. I am very thorough on following instructions and if you have a manual, I read them over several times to ensure nothing is being missed. I also enjoy taking pictures of pets and keeping owners updated with them for peace of mind.

Information Alyssa B. would like to know about your pet

Their routine, any medications they need or physical restrictions due to health concerns. What their triggers are/what should be avoided when out. Any behavioral notes, what activities they love most.

A typical day

I think regular walks and sniffing strolls are great for physical activity and enrichment. I like having light training sessions here and there for some variety in enrichment as well. Snuffle mats and lick pads. For safety reasons, I’m not super big on dog parks, but enjoy taking dogs to parks and playing fetch or sniffing around.

Currently I’m taking a break from my nursing work, so will be free to spend all my time with your pets taking care of them. I’m quite the homebody, so even when going out, it typically isn’t for long.
