21+ years animal care experience

Pet care experience

As an animal rescuer I am committed to continuing my education in animal care in order to confidently rely on best practices with every pet and advocate for the ethical treatment of all animals.💚 History; I've been an animal lover always, I had dogs and cats and birds as a child and horses were my focus as a teenager. I've bottle fed and rehomed abandoned baby kittens, rescued a baby crow who now lives in a wildlife sanctuary, cared for injured stray cats, rats 🐀, birds, reptiles 🦎, rabbits, chickens, ducks, a peacock 🦚 and horses. I've worked on a farm feeding, watering and exercising, multiple horses boarding there. Pevious professional experience: Certified Medical Assistant for multi surgeon practice in Los Gatos CA, 5 years *I give pets medication in my home the same way I would give medicine to a human in a doctor's office, check 3x and write it down.* I have experience in caring for senior dogs; puppies, injured and recovering dogs. I always let the dog set the pace for their walk/slow sniff/fetch or warp speed run. I can provide your pet a clean cozy bed, lots of love and attention, treats of course and a safe place where they will be comfortable and cared for while you get things done without worrying about how they are. I'm more than happy to send photos often and be sure you feel comfortable with the care I provide. When your pet is in my care they become an instant family member and I will keep them company, comfort them and be sure they feel safe and comfortable. When your dog is in my care I will spend as much time with them as possible because I understand how hard it can be for some to be away from home. I don't use crates or kennels, your dog will be treated as part of the family, snuggled and played with as much as they want. My goal is to make them feel safe and happy, if this is important to you then we are on the same page. My dogs schedule; breakfast, walk, play, afternoon walk, dinner, walk. I can easily add your pets feeding and walking schedule into ours just give me the specifics, the more info about routine you can give me the better so that I can make them feel at home. *IMPORTANT* Schedule changes based on the animals I care for that day. I offer continuous care/company for your pet while you are away. My services are designed for dogs who have been well trained. I am happy to help reinforce training and good habits in all settings but I cannot address behavioral issues during boarding. ⚠️meet and greet required for all new clients (this means I meet your dog in person to evaluate and decide if they are a good match for me.) I conduct these meetings outside, this is for everyone's safety please do not ask me to skip this step. ⚠️Please let me know right away about any aggression to children and or other animals. ⚠️Boarding: Let me know about previous boarding experiences and if your dog had any issues eating when away from you, I have a few tricks if this is the case. ⚠️ Please be sure to properly flea treat your pets in advance of dropping them off with me. ⚠️ If your dog bolts out the front door or escapes in any way from the house or when on walks, please let me know! I keep gates up at my front door so that it is controlled access, the back is gated as well.

Alyssa is someone you can trust. She is reliable, kind and caring. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to find someone to watch over their precious animals.

Alyssa was excellent with our dog. Since we were visiting and Roxy was in an unfamiliar area, she had separation anxiety. We appreciate that Alyssa spent a lot of time comforting Roxy, took her on a walk to get some exercise, and sent us photos throughout the evening/night.

Alyssa has been our go-to dog sitter for both of our pups the last few trips. She is very dependable and treats them like her own. I like how she sends us updates all the time with pictures and videos. I don’t ever have to worry when my pups are with her. I am so happy we found her and we will definitely be using her more when we travel!

Peace of mind. It's not what a dog-sitter does when everything is ok. But how do they react when there's a problem. During a two-week stay, my pup fought with a bee. Alyssa was phenomenal! Instant communication, flexible, calming, and she went to the vet TWICE to take care of my furry daughter while I was on a trip. I know my dog is safe when she's with her. And this is why I said peace of mind. Alyssa is my go-to sitter. I've been using Rover for years, and I've never felt so safe to leave my dog with someone. I'd give ten starts if I could!
