Experienced & Loving Caretaker

Pet care experience

Hello there! I have cared for and love dogs of all ages and sizes! I have 10+ years of experience in an animal shelter, have worked at a veterinary clinic, have owned dogs my entire life and have experience as a Puppy Raiser for service dogs. While volunteering with Animal Rescue of Fresno I also became a foster "paw-rent" so I'm comfortable with large groups of dogs as well as one-on-one time! In the shelter I managed the yards on a daily basis, and at home I worked on training and socialization with fosters. While working in a vet hospital I was responsible for general care of our clients as well as administering both oral and injected medications. I further broadened my experience by becoming a Puppy Raiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs and am confident with their professional training methods. I have worked in a boarding facility as well, where I gained more experience in handling dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I am comfortable handling very small dogs to the largest as well as special-needs and senior pets. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about my previous experiences and skills.

Safety, trust & environment

I always prefer a Meet & Greet for new clients in order to become acquainted with their dogs. This also helps the dog become familiar with me and sets us up for success. I take precautions when entering and leaving both homes and yards so as to prevent any possibility of escape. Training in vet science and previous experience has helped me feel confident in administering dog first-aid as well.

Information Alysia S. would like to know about your pet

I always like to get an idea of your dog's routine so I can stick to it as much as possible. I'll request any medical information such as allergies, and if your dog is friendly with other animals (dogs/cats/squirrels/ducks/etc).

A typical day

I enjoy sharing in exploration with pets, which means plenty of walks! Furthermore, I dedicate time to one-on-one snuggles, playtime with toys, and would love to work on simple training too! A happy dog is my happy place!
