Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm with many animals! Moved to pittsburgh years ago and after 10 years of nursing, decided I needed a break and began fostering dogs for rescues in PGH. I have fostered over 79 dogs this year from chihuahuas to newfoundlands. XL breeds are my souls but I love ALL doggies! I also am well versed in training and dogs with behavioral issues. I tend to foster the difficult dogs that most won’t feel comfortable with helping! I actually have 5 rescue dogs and all 5 stayed in my home due to maybe not being the most adoptable babies. ( and because I couldn’t let them go ) !! I want everyone to feel comfortable with me watching their dogs/puppies and know that I can handle anything that comes my way. With owning five dogs, sometimes I worry more that a babysitter can handle my dogs…. And that’s what I feel I can offer that most can’t. Nothing is overwhelming for me and I want dog owners to feel safe and comfortable being away from their dogs knowing that they’re being taken care of and loved!

If you are reading this, I assume you are a probably a diligent, caring, (and potentially a little anxious) pet parent trying to find a trustworthy sitter to leave your fur baby with…. Well, since you arrived on Alycia’s profile, look no further! I searched endlessly for a dog sitter to leave my sweet (but sometimes challenging) 2 year old mini golden doodle with, and Alycia is the absolute best! She sent me multiple messages each day with updates + pictures, and totally put my mind at ease while we were away. On top of ensuring my dog’s routine remained unchanged, she also worked on training her as well! All in all, it was an great experience & I highly recommend Alycia!
Alycia was fantastic with our Newfie. She kept us up to date with messages and pictures and was so easy to work with. She gave us peace of mind while we were away.
Alycia took a great care of our pups while we were away. She stayed in touch and gave us frequent updates on how things were going. Most definitely recommend!

I currently will only be offering dog sitting in owners homes due to having my own 5 dogs and feeling that I can give the best attention to your dog in their home environment. I have really learned that dogs are most comfortable and happy in a familiar place and home is definitely where a dogs heart is ❤️. I also am a registered nurse so medication and health needs are of no concern!

I would like to know as much information as the dog owner feels is necessary! However, I would prefer to know any “quirks” or special needs so I am well prepared for my job ahead !
A typical day
I would prefer to follow whatever routine the owner has in mind and consistent for them and their dog/puppy. If they love going on extended walks, great I will do the same ! If they just love Netflix and nap, great! I like to leave that up to the dog owners to tell me what is appropriate to do/not do with their dogs as they know them best!!

Availability
I am currently not working and flexible! Whether that be the request of staying with a dog/puppy consistently or for a few hours at a time! I also don’t mind consistent dog walking schedules or drop ins for a few to check up to make sure all the doggies are OK while their family is away for a few extra hours than normal!
