Pet care experience
For most of my life, I have had at least one pet dog. I have worked as a dog walker/sitter in the past, sometimes caring for more than 1 dog at a time. A few summers ago, I worked at a veterinary clinic where I helped handle and care for the animals. While working at the veterinary clinic, I also helped raise a litter of Pit Bull puppies. A few winters ago, I lived on my Aunt's farm and helped raised a litter of 11 Labrador Retriever puppies from 4 weeks to 8 weeks. I currently have my own dog, Kieli, who I adopted during in February 2017. I can promise you that I will give your pets(s) the same love, care, and patience that I give my own.

Althea is so great— always follows through and is wonderful with both our dog and our cat. She’s given the cat medicine, walks the dog, feeds them, etc.— but, most of all, they are totally comfortable with her and feel well loved!
Althea took great care of our very old cat while we were out of town through daily drop in visits, including giving her her medicine and sending a daily picture. Althea is super nice, very reliable, and clearly loves the animals. We’re hoping she’s available for drop in visits and walks for our dog (a husky) when we’re out for long days— she met him as well, and they clearly hit it off!
Althea took good care of Toussaint while I was away. She was willing to learn all that goes into taking care of a handicapped dog. I would definitely use her in the future.
Althea has cared for my dogs in the past in my home (short walks during day and also overnight), if she lived closer to me, she still would! She is a very reliable and trustworthy person and is great with animals (She is great around my horses also!).

A typical day
I love going hiking and for walks on trails, and nothing makes being out in nature better than sharing the experience with a canine friend! As long as it is okay with the owner, and time permits, I would be delighted to take any dog that I am walking to nearby trails in Amherst and surrounding towns. I also enjoy simply playing outside in the back yard, or even just sitting and relaxing outside.
