I'll care for your pet like my own!
Pet care experience
Hello! I am excited to possibly care for your dog(s) or cat(s)! I understand that your pet(s) is/are part of your family and I will commit to taking care of him or her, or them, as you request! My goal is for pet parents to feel peace of mind while they are away and assured that their pet(s) are being cared for with patience and love. I have a huge heart for animals and feel that they deserve love and care as they provide us so much unconditional love. They are only a part of our complex, busy lives, but we are their whole life. Fast facts about me ... -You’ll usually find me caring for animals, plants or people; I’m a nurturer at heart. -I'm from a small town in the very NE corner of Indiana and moved to Washington in 2017 to be with my girlfriend now wife, Sarah. Sarah and I met in Indiana shortly before her move to Washington and dated long distance until I moved as well. -I’ve been caring for pets on Rover since 2017. -I can provide care for your dog(s) or cat(s), and I am also comfortable providing care for smaller mammals, reptiles, birds, livestock, etc. -I am comfortable doing additional services during visits such as grooming, nail trims, bathing, feeding, medicating, training, and cleaning. -I have extensive experience administering medications to pets which also includes administering injections and subcutaneous fluids. -I have experience caring for senior dogs and understand their needs. -I've parented dogs my whole life and my family adopted our first cat when I was 17. -My wife and I's Aussie mix crossed the rainbow bridge in '22 and we aren't at a place in our lives to parent a pup again. -We do parent 5 sweet cats. We went from 2 to 4 quickly and then had a foster fail bring us to 5 in January 2024. :) -My wife and I foster cats in various ways. We foster through PAWS. We privately foster cats whose families are displaced. We also privately foster surrendered cats and then find them new forever homes. -I am active in feral cat rescue as well. I feed a feral colony of cats in South Everett. I have been working to TNR feral cats from this site and adopt out tame kittens from this site since October 2023. -I worked in a veterinary clinic for 5 years as a teenager; I had originally wanted to be a veterinarian but realized my heart could not take it and I instead decided to pursue a career in social services. I worked with dogs, cats, pigs, horses, and goats. I cleaned kennels/stalls, fed, bathed, and medicated, as well as assisted with clients during office exams. -I graduated college with B.S. degrees in Animal Science and Biology from the University of Findlay in Ohio and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University in Indiana. -I work full time at Everett Community College as a Counselor in the TRiO program and as the Passport Designated Support Staff for EvCC's Passport to Careers program. I am passionate about advocating for and providing equitable access to education to underserved populations and communities. For pet parents new to Rover: Welcome and thank you for checking out my profile! After you send me the initial message, I will do my best to respond within a couple hours. We will then chat about your sit and if I’m available to complete the sit. We can then set up a meet and greet where you and your pet(s) can meet me. If we are both comfortable with the sit, we’ll then confirm the booking. On the day(s) of the sit, I will send you updates via a Rover card. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me! Rover fees are not fully customizable so you may see slight +/- changes to the fees once I adjust them from the automatic fees that Rover applies when a request is made. Integrity is of the utmost importance to me and I work hard to provide excellent care at pricing that is feasible for pet parents. I was financially insecure for most of my life and do not want to cause a hardship for anyone. Additionally, I do not charge a holiday rate for all of the dates that Rover designates as holidays so I do not include holiday rates in my general pricing. Drop ins or walks on holidays are +$10 per visit. The holidays that I charge for are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I charge an additional $5 per visit during the summer months - June 1 to September 30. I charge an additional $5 per visit for homes over 5 miles drive distance. Ps, if this is your first time using Rover, please ask about my $20 off promo code! I look forward to hearing from you!
Reviews
Excellent yet again!
Amazing! I always feel much better knowing Allison is caring for my kitty.
Allison was great! She gave us detailed updates twice a day of our kitties. She sent pictures of them eating and playing. We could tell from the updates and pictures she really cares and takes the time to ensure they are well taken cared for. We were rest assured that they were in good hands and we didn’t have to worry about them. I would highly recommend!
Thank you Alison, always going above and beyond for my babies.

When I arrive at your home for a drop in, I will usually immediately pet your dog(s) or cat(s) if they are comfortable with contact. I will usually give them a toy, treat or let them outside while I complete any feeding, watering, litter box, and medication chores. Once I complete the tasks we've chatted about, I'll go to wherever your pet is and play with and/or give lots of pets and lovins - as long as your pet is interested in interacting. :)
Information Allison W. would like to know about your pet
The most important thing for me to know is if your pet has any special needs or allergies so I can ensure that I provide the best care and keep them safe and healthy while you're away.
A typical day
Dogs - My interactions with dogs will vary depending on your home and where you live. I may walk your dog outside or take your dog in your yard to play. I have a long 50 foot lead that I will sometimes put dogs on and take them to an open area to play if you do not have a fenced in yard(if it's safe to do so and you agree). If your dog can have treats, I may make a snuffle with a towel or blanket so they can flex their natural instinct to forage. If your dog has toys to play with then we will play with those as well. I love to get on the floor with pups and wrestle if they enjoy that and it's safe to do so. Or we can just sit/lay and they can enjoy lots of pets and love. :) Cats - I usually bring a laser pointer and a couple of wand toys with me when I visit cats. If you have a TV with YouTube access, I may also turn on some "Cat TV" for your cats to watch. Cats can get really interested in the bugs, birds and fish on Cat TV so I'm careful to prevent them from jumping up and breaking anything or knocking anything over. If cats have treats and are food motivated then I will hide treats around their primary areas for them to hunt. If your cat is a love bug then they will also receive lots of pets and ear and chin scratches. :)

Availability
On weekdays I complete drop ins either in the mornings prior to my workday, or in the late afternoon and evenings after my workday is complete. I am available all day on weekends to complete drop ins and provide pet care. I follow a well-organized process when completing a booking and maintain a detailed calendar of my Rover responsibilities to ensure I never miss a sit.
