For the past several years I have worked a couple of amazing no-kill animal shelters (the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Richmond SPCA) as an Adoption Counselor. There is nothing that makes me happier than caring for shelter dogs and finding them homes. At these facilities I have been able to spend a considerable amount of time working with the dogs that have behavior challenges, and difficulty acclimating to strangers and new situations. I would now consider working with these dogs my strong suit. I really enjoy working to gain their trust and showing them that the world isn't so scary. My own dog came from a difficult situation and is very nervous around new people and dogs (which is why I can only take care of your dog in your own home). He has helped me learn how to acclimate nervous dogs, take a scared dog on successful and stress-free walks, and how to approach animal care with patience and understanding. So if you have a dog that needs a little encouragement, I'm the girl for you! I do, however, love all dogs and would be thrilled to take care of all of your beloved pets.
