Aspiring part time dog mom!

Pet care experience

For the past 15 years, I have dog sat, dog walked and volunteered at two animal shelters, where I specialized in the dog side of things. Don’t let my resume fool you, I adore cats and all other animals just the same! I love training dogs by teaching them tricks and daily manners they should generally have. I am however, a college student so my schedule is a little bit all over the place but I am willing to carve the time out of my schedule that I need for your wonderful furry companion!! I understand and realize how important it is that your pups (and kitties) are well taken care of, and I would love to give you as the owner or dog mom/dad the ease to know that your furry friend will be in the best of care possible with me!

New to the area, you can imagine how concerned I was about finding a sitter for my two cats, Sage and Juniper, as I traveled across the country for this Christmas. Added concern was traveling during the bomb cyclone during the week of Christmas! Happily, my worries subsided because of Allison caring for my girls while I was so far away! Allison was so gentle and compassionate with their care. She sent me daily photos and videos of the girls and it really helped me relax knowing that they were with a very special cat sitter. Thank you Allison because you are awesome!!!

Allison did great. Pups and kitties were very content when we got home. She even preped their dinner for us so we didn't have to it when we got home. Much appreciated and definitly recommend Allison.

Allison was great. She kept us updated and sent lots of pictures. House was clean and put away when we left. She did what we asked of her.

Safety, trust & environment

I do not currently offer house boarding due to my current lease agreement with a no pets policy. But, when at a clients house, I will always try and take dogs for a walk in the morning and at night to give them some daily exercise, unless notified otherwise. Given our weather can be a bit temperamental, I like spending time playing with dogs and their toys (outside/inside) if they have any. Towards the end of my evenings I enjoy relaxing and kicking my feet up for a few before bed where I hope dogs (and cats) will come up on the couch next to me for a cuddle! If they aren’t allowed on furniture I will sit on the floor and give them lots of scratches during this time! When bedtime comes around, I have no problems with dog/cat hair and hope that your pets likes to snuggle up on the bed with me!

Information Allison P. would like to know about your pet

Any background information that may be vitally important regarding routine, behaviors, or special care would be helpful. *I have only dealt with it in two cases but if your dog has a history of being aggressive please let me know. I will always plan a meet and greet to get dogs a tad familiar with who I am and for me to get a feel for them; however, if I sense any red flags for aggression I will not hesitate to decline a stay.

A typical day

I love giving dogs lots of physical and mental stimulation, especially with longer stays. Animals have a tendency to miss their owner within the first 2 days but with multiple walks and playtime I can keep their mind occupied with their current surroundings. I typically don’t take dogs in my own vehicle to parks, but I love to give dogs walks and let them stop when they smell something that may be interesting to them. This is a great way for me to bond with your pups and get them more comfortable with me. If advised to not go for walks for any reason, I will focus more on playtime and rewarding good behavior/tricks with treats!

I am currently working full time and get 30 min breaks. I am willing to give a potty break during my lunch break but that will be dependent on your distance from my work as 30 min isn’t a whole lot of time when considering travel and care.
