I love every pet I've ever met!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Allison(she/her), and I love animals. At my last job I was the go-to pet sitter and dog walker for my coworkers and got loads of experience through that. Over the years I've been trusted to stay in people's homes with their beloved pets sometimes for weeks at a time, and I am committed to taking the absolute best care of your animals and your home. I also will happily walk in just about any weather and love taking 5-10 mile walks, so if you're looking for extra long walks I'm your girl! While most of my experience is with dogs, I've cared for a wide variety of animals. I'm comfortable with any pet from insects to reptiles to rodents to birds, as long as they are well cared for!

Allison is great with our dogs, one of whom is nervous and the other is mischievous. And she's communicative, attentive and flexible. Highly recommend!

Allison is amazing with our very social cat - loves him up, takes him on walks, and of course, meets basic needs. And Allison takes great photos! Five stars!

Allison is great with our pups! We so appreciate how well she takes care of them, including one who likes to put everything in her mouth, and the other who is anxious and can be territorial. They both love Allison!

I have been a huge animal lover my entire life. My family dog was a street dog in Taiwan for the first few years of her life, and it took years of patiently working with her to get her to the point where she was even comfortable being touched. I also used to have an elderly, grumpy chihuahua who was on several medications which she needed multiple times a day, and I've had to give a lot of meds to my family's cats over the years as well. Between the special needs pets I've owned and all the ones I've gotten to pet sit, I have experience with a huge variety of temperaments, breeds, and medical issues. I pride myself on being able to sense what kind of care an animal needs, whether its constant attention and play or just giving them time and space to get comfortable with me. Please don't hesitate to ask for additional references or ask any questions you might have! I also want to add, for house sitting if you have multiple pets I am happy to negotiate rates, for example if you have both dogs and cats I would only charge for the dogs unless the cats required more than just attention and food. Essentially I will charge for whatever animals require the most care and throw in any "easy" pets for free within reason. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you and your pets, thanks for reading!

Information Allison K. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know in advance if your dog is aggressive with other dogs/kids/people or if they're likely to pull hard on the leash. These are all things I have experience with, I just need a heads up. If your dog pulls hard and does not have a secure harness to prevent potential neck injury, I will refuse the walk as the comfort and safety of the animals I interact with is my top priority. Also, I have selected yes to administering injected medication to dogs on my profile because I have given injections several times, but only with one dog. I'm totally comfortable with it, but I won't give injections to a new dog without first going over everything with the owner and watching them do it at least once to see how the dog reacts.

A typical day

I love to play with dogs in any way they'll enjoy, whether that's fetch or just rolling around on the ground with them. If your dog is up for it I'm also a big fan of long walks around different neighborhoods, or to parks like Discovery or Carkeek. I live right up the hill from Golden Gardens and love taking our dog to the dog park there, and I love to bring other dogs there once I get to know them well enough for off leash play.

I'm currently doing walking/pet sitting full time so I'll have plenty of time to spend with your animals! I know that with the pandemic more people than ever are working from home, and as a result we're seeing a lot more animals with separation anxiety. I am happy to adjust my schedule however I can to accommodate that, just let me know if you need a sitter who won't leave your pets alone for more than a few hours at a time.
