Golden Girl with a Golden Boy ❤️

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up with dogs (pit Bull, border collies, and mutts galore) and now have a golden retriever dog of my own. I live in a pet friendly apartment, that has a large grassy area and plenty of places to go on walks. I have worked anywhere from puppies to senior dogs and try to create the perfect vacation experience for your pup to allow you as the owner(s) a chance to relax and ensure your pup(or cat) is in good care. I am happy to provide updates via pictures, videos, and text but also understand if you rather have peace and quiet while away—just let me know ☺️

Allison was wonderful. She made sure to really get to know my fur babies and kept in touch with me while I was away. I still missed them, but I knew that they were in great hands.

Allison took great care of our golden retriever while we were out of town for a few days. She was very responsive to messages and sent regular updates, photos, and videos. She was sensitive to his special needs as an older dog who was still recovering from a recent surgery. We returned home to a happy and healthy dog. Allison was a joy to work with and we highly recommend her!

Allison did a fantastic job of house sitting and caring for our dog. She communicated often with photos and updates and gave our senior dog the extra attention that he needs. I don’t think you could find a better person to care for your pet! Highly recommended.

Safety: As mentioned above, I am rarely away from my own pup longer than 3 hours at a time. I am able to watch pets in my own house through my camera. I do ask if your pet cannot be trusted alone for 3 hours at a time, please let me know. I have two large crates, and happy to put away any tempting items such as trash, socks, shoes, etc. I keep my cabinets stocked with Benadryl, hydrogen peroxide, and other first aid materials to tend to accidents or reactions if they happen. If your dog has allergies or sensitivities, please let me know upon booking. My house: I live in an apartment on the second floor that is conveniently located near a grassy area. This allows plenty of space for your pet(s) to roam as needed, and a quiet environment for them to relax as well. My dog typically sleeps with me, but I have plenty of dog beds, couches, and even a guest bed if they prefer their own space. If away, I keep doors to areas such as bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen closed off and allow the pets access to their water and food bowls. This helps prevent anyone getting into anything dangerous or tempting while away. And again, I keep a watchful eye through our camera device that gives a 360 view of the area. My dog: My dog, Comet, is 2 years old, and a male golden retriever (fixed). He is a very playful energetic pup, but also tends to be very laid back after he gets settled. He has never had a problem with any dog, but I do ask if we can have a meet and greet prior to booking to ensure that everyone will get along and recognize each other. If you would like me to housesit, and know your pet is not okay with other pups, please let me know. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! I know as a pet parent, I have my own anxieties around leaving him with others and want to ensure you feel at ease while leaving your loved one(s) in my care while you are away.

Information Allison F. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, allergies, or specific routines. I have a dog that gets along with all dogs, and loves to wrestle and play. Please let me know your pets comfortability with other dogs, and typical play behaviors. I am happy to accommodate and fit your pet’s needs best!

A typical day

I like to follow the dogs routine. With my own, I wake up, go on our wake-up walk, provide breakfast then time for snuggles and playtime before I go to work. On afternoons when I get off, we spend time in the dog park with our community friends and wipe down (because dog park tends to get our paws dirty) before dinner and refresh on our training. Then relax and snuggle before settling down for bed.

My schedule: I am currently an assistant professor at ECU. My schedule varies depending on the day and week, but it is very flexible. I am able to adjust my schedule to meet the needs of your pet, and will communicate this with you in advance before booking so you can feel at ease knowing they will be taken care of. When I am away from my house, I have a camera set up with video and audio, and check frequently on the pets to ensure everything is going alright. Rest assured—your pet is of priority and will be clear in communication if my schedule does conflict before booking.
