About Me: Hello everyone, I'm Allison! I'm very excited to join the Rover team to provide the best care for your fur baby. I have a lifetime's worth of experience caring for dogs as I grew up with dogs both in my home and with relatives and friends. I started out caring for dogs in my own home, then I branched out by helping family members take their dogs out on walks and doing in-home house sitting. From there I began dropping in for people around the neighborhood to play with and feed their dogs, and my love for dogs has only grown. I have cared for dogs from puppyhood to seniority; I am very comfortable giving oral medications if needed. I am an active volunteer for BB's Imperial Shih Tzus and I am on the board of directors with BB's Helping Hands Rescue. I have experience working with all breeds and behavioral problems through my rescue. In the last 7 years I've been working with the rescue, I have gained experience in nursing puppies, house training puppies, training dogs with separation anxiety and other mood disorders, and giving various medications, both oral and topical, for a range of reasons. I have also conducted leash and crate training for puppies. I have a warm, welcoming home and an open schedule for your fur baby's need. I will also watch your cat if need be, I have a few years of experience taking care of cats. I do have an external insurance policy with Pet Care Insurance.

For boarding at my home, I have a large fenced yard for your dog(s) to play and exercise in, and 4 little shih tzus of my own to keep your dog(s) company. I have space to allow for a crate if your dog(s) is/are crate trained. I ask that you bring your furbaby’s own food, treats, and medications if application so I can keep your furbaby on their diet and avoid any GI upset. I also ask that you provide the information for your furbaby’s regular veterinarian in case of emergencies or consultation. For house stays I am happy to adhere to your furbaby’s normal home routine. At the meet and greet I will ask for a description of your furbaby’s routine and schedule.

I would like to know of any special diets or medications your dog is on and what time you normally feed your dog. I would like to know of any special calming techniques that work well for your dog in an event they experience anxiety. I'd like to know of any aggressive behavior as I own 2 little shih tzus and any extra training or grooming needs your dog has. I don't have a breed restriction with stays, walks, drop ins, or day care. I prefer that you provide the food that your dog usually eats during his or her stay. This helps prevent any GI upset from them eating a brand of food they are not accustomed to.
A typical day
We will enjoy walks at the beach and on nature trails. There will be plenty of cuddle time watching movies with treats. I have a large apartment well stocked with plenty of toys and plush furniture for lavish lounging. Basic bathing and brushing will also be offered to your dog during his or her stay. Basic training (leash training, socialization, crate training) and basic grooming (baths and combing/brushing) available upon request. I believe pets deserve just as much, if not more, than us. Therefore, I use Spa by Tropiclean shampoo and conditioner when bathing dogs.
