I have recently moved from Massachusetts to Manhattan to attend Columbia University for my M.A. in English Education. While living at my parents' during peak quarantine, we adopted a Redtick Coonhound from New Orleans named Otis. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. In my 22 years I have had four family dogs. Through growing up with dogs, I have learned their many needs and personality traits - and how to deal with them. I have cared for dogs from basic needs like walks and potty breaks, to more advanced needs like medication. For example, I have given my dog Adeline who suffered from an array of illnesses (glaucoma, blindness, chronic ear infections, UTIs, slipped disc) several medications a day on a timed schedule through the years and have adjusted my interactions with her to accommodate her needs. Out of all of the dogs my family and I have had, all have had extremely different personalities. That being said, I have experience with hyper-active puppies, disabled elderly dogs, and everything in between.
