Pet Sitter and Veterinary Assistant

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Allison and I have worked with animals all my life. I have been a veterinary nurse with general practice, emergency, ICU, and specialty training for a cumulative 13 years. I have experience with everything from rabbits to horses and in between. If your furry family member needs any special attention whether its a few extra hugs and pets to administering medication, I can provide the comfort and peace of mind you deserve for your pet. Having a dog with multiple, severe medical "quirks" of my own, I understand the stress owners undergo when searching for the right caretaker. I would be more than please to provide that sense of security for your furry friend. Fearful, nervous, and aggressive dogs are of no issue, in my line of work we accommodate for the needs of those who need a little more caution handling or those who need time to warm up to new people. I also can retrieve the mail, tend to plants, and keep the house tidy while you are away.

Information Allison A. would like to know about your pet

Working in the veterinary field, you see animals of all shapes, sizes, temperaments, and instincts. Before sitting a pet, I will always ask if he/she first off has any health issues I should be aware of and what I am expected to do to provide the best care for your dog or cat. After covering the medical basis, obtaining emergency contacts, and knowing which veterinary hospital you prefer in case of an emergency, I like to know your furry friend's likes and dislikes. From whether he/she is a finicky eater or doesn't like their paws touched as well as if he/she can be the nervous type, is scared or aggressive with other dogs, or any other quirk you find remotely necessary for me to know to make your dog's days with me more enjoyable.

A typical day

Physical exercise and mental exercise are equally important in a dog's life. Activates I am able to offer your furry friend would be simple walks around the neighborhood to on leash hiking and backpacking. Back at home, I can provide mental stimulation games like searching for toys around the house, teaching of new tricks, and more.
