There’s just nothing better than getting to take care of a dog. I love being able to see them happy and healthy, but I also think they teach me a lot in the process too! I enjoy taking care of dogs both mentally and physically so that they have a full experience when they’re in my care. But overall, I just love that I can give back to dogs and my community all at the same time as a sitter! I have a long history of providing care to animals. I used to foster and help several no-kill animal rescues like Austin Pets Alive, Safe House Animal Rescue, Community Cat, and Paws Chicago. I also worked at a spay & neuter clinic for a while doing some shots, fluids, medications, microchips, and working in the recovery room. I can do basic grooming things like nails, brushing, sanitary cut, etc. I am also a positive reinforcement trainer. That means that your dog will be in good hands with me no matter what. I LOVE German Shepherds but I am happy to work with all dogs. My household is very welcoming to new dogs! I currently live with a German Shepherd named Rae and a Fox Terrier/Dachshund mix named Scout, and my husband Marcus. We all love having new friends around the house to take care of, so your dog will be right at home with us. Best of all, I’ll be home at all times during the day with your dog. That means that I’m a good fit for dogs that are used to having a human presence around them during the day. I also have flexible hours, so I’m happy to work around owners with unorthodox schedules. I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet when taking on a new client. That way, we can all make sure that we’re a good fit for one another, and have the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your dog. I love to get as much information as possible about your dog before I start caring for them, so a meet is the perfect chance to make that happen. My goal is to provide a holistic experience for your pup, so getting to meet with the owners first is the first step in making that happen. Plus, I just love meeting new dogs.

Our pup stayed w/ Allie and family for almost 2 weeks. It was a pretty last minute arrangement as my other boarding plans changed quickly. I am so much happier having found Allie than I would have been having to kennel our dog. We had daily photo updates. Our dog came home happy, healthy, and tired out from all the playing. It was lovely to vacation and not have to worry about the dog. And I know our dog was much less stressed in this situation that he would have been in boarding.
Allie was great with Nox, he absolutely vibrated with excitement when he realized he was heading to Allie for a visit. He always came home exhausted and happy. Allie was above and beyond with her care, often sending Nox home with homemade puppy treats or bandanas, and she was super flexible in last minute changes. I would absolutely recommend Allie to everyone!
Allie is trully great. She's easy to work with and very flexible on times. She seems to love what she does and puts her best into it. For me the biggest detail was finding a safe sitter that works early hours. I work 12 hr days and was finding it difficult to find a reasonable prices sitter that fit my hours. Many wanted 3 times what shebdoes for my hours. If recommend her to anyone that needs dog sitter

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your dog like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your dog do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your dog?
A typical day
We do not do a lot of walks in the neighborhood because it’s mostly apartment buildings and concrete. We do, however, have a small dog park right across the street that is very nice for dogs who have never been to a dog park before! The convenience of the dog park in the neighborhood is that I know the local dogs that use it and their play style. They are always very friendly and accommodating to new dogs. If your dog doesn’t like to socialize, we can always head to any of the other parks instead for some exploration. My go-to favorites are Pizurro and Three Creeks park. If your pooch can handle a hike, we may take a drive to Old Man’s Cave! Otherwise we can train some new tricks and go for structured walks. While we are home, they will get to play with the other dogs and play with some toys.
