🐾 Hello! 🐾 I am a life-long animal lover! My family owned dogs & cats throughout my childhood and as an adult I've held countless dog walking & sitting jobs, worked professionally as a doggy daycare "camp counselor,” taken in a handful of foster dogs & puppies, and have two adopted rescue dogs of my own. Working at a doggy daycare, I interacted with and cared for up to 70 dogs every day. This experience required being very in tune to reading dogs’ body language, emotions, and needs quickly, especially with unfamiliar dogs. There, I also worked regularly with high needs dogs who required specialized medical or social care, so I am comfortable and willing to accommodate those needs for your pet. As an experienced sitter, I understand it is often confusing and sometimes scary for pets to be separated from their families, around unfamiliar people or in an unfamiliar environment, which has potential to alter their behavior in many ways. I strive to keep your dog’s care as close to their normal routine as possible and be attentive, patient, understanding and flexible while they adjust. Some pets are so thrilled to see a new person they won’t leave me alone, some are much more uncertain about a new person entering their world. I’ve experienced pets on both extremes of the spectrum (heck, my own two dogs are opposite ends of the spectrum!) and I’m happy to give your pets all the attention or space they need! I am primarily offering house sitting and drop in services at this time, but do have limited availability to take in daycare dogs on select days. My partner, 2 dogs and I live in a house in West Asheville. We have a fenced yard the pups love to run and play in and while the house is small it is very dog friendly. When I have guest daycare dogs I am home the whole time and dogs are always supervised when playing outside. My dogs go to dog parks and stay with other sitters regularly so are very well socialized, however I do always require a meet & greet before daycare stays to ensure everyone will have a comfortable time together!
