I am a former veterinary assistant experienced with all breeds, behaviors, and special needs. My entire life has revolved around caring for animals, from growing up on a quail farm with 7 dogs (yep!) to working in veterinary care while pursuing my BS in wildlife biology. In 2015 I interned at a wildlife rescue specializing in neonatal animals and in 2016 I helped manage an animal sanctuary with 300+ dogs, most of them special needs and seniors. I believe every pet is precious and should be treated like the family they are, and I live by what my dad told me when I was a kid: "If you want to be a better person, be more like a dog." I currently have two dogs of my own: a medical service animal, Ripley, who is half husky-half border collie; and Brody, who is a special needs yellow lab/beagle (most of one, at least - he's missing an eye and a leg but he's got enough heart to make up for the missing pieces).
