I've always had 1 or 2 furry kids. I have always socialized them and never had any aggression. Yes, I talk to dogs. If your dogs like climbing on the couch, I have covers. They like sitting in laps, hop up! If they like climbing on shoulders, so be it. All mine do these and I have no issues. No carpet in the house, so if there is an accident, easily cleaned. I'm flexible on things. If there is something you would like, I'm not hard to get a long with. Weekends are the best. I rarely go anywhere on the weekends.
