I grew up with cats and have had many dogs in my life. For my high energy border collie I did agility and goose chasing. For my nervous nellie labrador, I worked slowly building her confidence until she was a friendly confident dog. What makes me a good caretaker of animals is that I take the time to read their mood and confidence level so I can adapt myself to make them feel comfortable with me and whatever surroundings we are in. When I care for an animal, it is important that they feel safe and secure and that I add to their happiness by giving them that extra walk, cuddle or play that they need that day. To be honest, half the reason I joined Rover is to hang with more animals since I can't adopt more of my own.
