Loving Care

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs my whole life and have cared for others’ dogs my whole adult life. I’ve been blessed to have my dogs live long lives, which has afforded me much experience in the care of elders and medical/health issues. I am certified through Dogsafe in Canine First Aid and CPR after a comprehensive, hands-on 8 hour class and testing. My canine partner, Griz, is sweet, mellow, and gets along with everyone. We have a large, fenced yard. While dogs are welcome to be loose in the house, I also have a walk-in kennel with raised floor in the heated garage and a extra-large wire kennel in the house for those who prefer cozier accomodations at times. Guests are welcome to bring their own crates and beds and there are lots of cozy spots here already as well. I’m happy to provide frequent communication, updates, and fun photos while your dog(s) enjoy their time with Griz and I.

Alison kept us posted on how our dog was doing, and sent photos on their walks every day. She kept safety at the forefront of her mind, and she cared for our dog well. Thank you!

She’s a pretty nice person but since she takes several different dogs at a time, and does not keep them on leash at unfenced dog parks, we’ve had 2 life-threatening experiences, once with each of our dogs. One with a otter attack and major bleeding and infection, and one with our dog getting hit by a car on a busy road that required 2 surgeries and 5 months of rehab. Plus no response when asked to at least split the remaining bills. Can not recommend.

Alison is our favorite dog sitter. She is clearly a dog person and is totally devoted to the dogs and will go the extra mile to give you the peace of mile and provide the dogs a home away from home

Information Alison S. would like to know about your pet

All breeds, sizes, and ages welcome. I would like to know all medical needs/issues, personality idiosyncrasies and preferences, and space preferences (e.g. does the dog or their people prefer kenneling when I’m not at home). If at all possible, we’ll do a meet and greet prior to first stays where I’ll cover these questions with you and take notes.

A typical day

We go very frequently to both University Lake and Connors Bog off leash dog parks. We also frequent other trails and parks in and around Anchorage. I’m happy to leash walk as well. In the darker months, I would like dogs to come with a LED lighted collar or tag. I’d love to take your dog(s) to Alaska K9 Aquatics for their pre-paid appointments if they love the folks and facilities at the pool as much as I do! There is also plenty of yard-play to be had in our very large, fenced yard.
