Experienced, Loving Dog Trainer

Pet care experience

Hi, Welcome to Alicia's Bark House! I'm excited to host your four legged friend! My husband and I are both avid dog lovers as are our children :) and we understand the importance of a happy, healthy, and loving home. Not only have I had pets (dogs, cats, birds, fish, a tortoise, and chickens) my entire life but I've also been a dog trainer for almost 3 years now and have emergency medical education for dogs as well as Kennel Pro insurance. I do some training inside of private homes but mostly board and trains where the dog lives with me during training. Because I am employed with another company, I am only currently offering boarding, and doggie daycare through this app (although your dog may learn something while they are here 😉). I absolutely love animals and love working with them. I am home most of the day with the exception of taking my kids to and from school and an occasional private training lesson. For the most part, I am also home all weekend. I have a huge yard with a block privacy fence for your dog to run around, sniff and wonder. I only take up to 3 dogs a day so your pet will get plenty of individual attention. I will treat your baby just like my own. I have experience with dogs of all sizes including large dogs. I do ask that they don't exceed 90 pounds though. I am centrally located right off of the I-17 and about 15 minutes from the airport. I love to take dogs on walks around the neighborhood and give plenty of belly rubs 😄 I am happy to provide pictures of your pet during their stay as well as updates for your peace of mind and so you can see how their doggie vacation is going. Please feel free to let me know if there are any special requests. If you have any questions or want to schedule a video call just let me know. With Covid-19 I do prefer a phone or video call over a meet and greet if possible but will work with you on this :). Thank you for your interest and I'll talk to you soon! A little extra info: *For safety reasons, all dogs will be fed in kennels/crates to avoid any food aggression/fights. In the Summer dogs will only be outside for short periods of time (10 minutes or less at any given time during high temperatures). Other then that they will be in air conditioning. Also, for safety, dogs are crated at night at bedtime. If your dog is not crate trained please let me know. I have extra crates if needed. *Boarding is a 24 hour period and I ask that pick-up is with-in a 2 our window of drop off time (so you have a little window) or a day of doggie day care will need to be added. For example, if you drop off at 8 a.m. and pick up at 10 a.m. the next day it would be just the cost of boarding. If you drop off at 8 a.m. and pick up anytime after 10 a.m. the doggie day care cost will be added to cover the additional time. *I would also ask that your baby be completely up to date on all shots and be crate trained. *Due to very high demand during the holidays, a 3 night minimum stay is required to book over the following holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Forth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

You can tell Alicia and her family really loves dogs :) It was my puppy Burger’s first time away from home, and she’s very shy, so I was nervous about how she’d do. However, Alicia absolutely put my mind at ease with lots of updates and photos of my puppy. Her kids loved Burger, too, which so heartwarming! Not only that, but I could tell they were very gentle and sweet with Burger, which is important for a 6 lb puppy. Alicia and her family truly respect your pets, so just know they’ll be safe with them. I definitely look forward to having her pet-sit for us in the future.

A typical day

I absolutely love to play with dogs and will work to stimulate your pet both mentally and physically. I would love to know what games your baby enjoys so we can play! I have tugs and lots of different size fetch balls as well as treat puzzles. If your dog enjoys parks I know a great one where we can go and check out some new smells :) I also love going on a morning or evening stroll with my furry friends!
