Hello! I have been a pet owner for 17 yrs. I am currently the mama of 2 senior dachshunds named Charlie and Chloe who are both rescues. I am also a veteran and military spouse. I would like to give a little background on my dogs and why I believe it makes me a great candidate to help care for your pet! I am a strong believer in pet rescue. So many dogs are neglected or displaced and need a loving home. Chloe was an owner surrender at the age of 5. She was heart worm positive and missing most of her teeth. After we rescued her she developed IVDD and had to have 2 back surgeries to prevent her from being paralyzed. Just recently we found out she was bleeding internally from a ruptured hematoma on her liver and had emergency surgery to remove it. A few weeks later she had 2 mammary tumors removed. It was suggested that we may want to put her down but we couldn't knowing she still has such a great quality of life. Chloe can't hear anymore and has potty accidents but she is doing great!! Charlie was rescued from a puppy mill where he spend the first 3 years in a cage with hardly any human interaction. He was so scared when we adopted him that he hid under the car seat on the way home to where we could hardly get him out. For the first couple of months he would hide and potty on himself if too many people came near him. We just continued to love on him and got him out as much as possible. Today he's not nearly as shy but can be aggressive around new people. We have to be careful with him around others, especially children. But he is very sweet and lovable! I believe the challenges I have faced with my own pets gives me experience and knowledge to care for all dogs especially those with special needs. I will love and care for your pet like they are my own. I hope that you would give me the opportunity! *I can accommodate overnight boarding for 2 dogs at a time. At least one crate would need to provided. *I am happy to come to your home, sit with your pet and take them on walks. *I have a fenced yard large enough for your pet to get plenty of exercise.
