Pet care experience
I was born on a farm and have almost always had a family pet even after moving away at 6, most of these being cats and snakes. My brother has a dog now that I watch for him often and I take care of my dad's chickens when he's away for work. I also have some experience dog sitting for family friends, including administering basic medications and supervising pets with different dietary needs. Much of my free time is spent learning about pet behavior and psychology to better my relationships with the animals around me. This came in handy when my mom took in feral kittens from a farm, two of which live with me now. I love animals and treat them with all the love and attention I would to my own pets.

Hands down Alice is the best cat sitter we’ve ever had. We have four cats including a tripod and one with severe allergies that has special dietary needs and Alice is able to handle it all. It’s obvious when you meet her that she is an animal person. She is very perceptive when it comes to understanding animals and is completely trustworthy to give them the best of care. The cats are comfortable with her and she is attentive to their particular needs (even their emotional needs). She seemed particularly gifted at understanding cats but has also cared for our elderly dog while she was alive and was excellent. She can be trusted 100% to give animals the best of care which has been a huge relief for us when we leave town! Our cats are the least stressed I’ve seen them when left in her care. She’s above and beyond your average pet sitter and we feel very lucky to have found her. She even knitted them handmade cats toys while she was here- now their favorite toys!
Alice has grown up with animals most of her life and is quite comfortable with all pets. She grew up on a farm until six years old, and even later always had chickens, dogs and cats. Alice has pet sat for friends with dogs, and most recently, was responsible for taking and socializing four feral cats I rescued from a local farm. She has a calming way about her, which animals love!

I have cats at home so would have to go to yours. I'm used to portioning meals with a kitchen scale, thawing frozen rodents for reptiles, giving medication to cats and dogs that are not prone to biting, and collecting urine and stool samples if necessary. I love to cuddle willing pets but respect those that don't like it.

Let me know if I'll need to give oral medication and how easily the pet accepts them. If your pet listens to commands well and isn't prone to pulling I'm glad to bring them to nearby parks for walks.
A typical day
I am happy to spend some time playing fetch outdoors or indoors and going on short walks in the neighborhood or nearby parks. I have very low energy and stamina so would not be good for dogs with high energy needs. Always willing to cuddle.

Availability
I work limited hours at a part time job due to a chronic illness. This leaves my schedule fairly open but also unfortunately limits how much I can travel as well as my stamina, so I'm just looking for small, nearby jobs at the moment.
