While I am not a dog owner myself, my girlfriend and I have provided dog-sitting services to friends for many years. We always viewed it as a win-win for us: we get to help our friends while pretending to have our own dog for a few days! We both love doggos, so rest assured that your pet will be in a loving home. You should essentially expect your pup to join our family unit, i.e. #JoinThePack. Part of my motivation for joining Rover is to spend more time with a variety of breeds, so that we can make a more informed decision when we finally take the plunge and get a furry friend to join our family. I am home (nearly) full-time, which means your dog will have a lot of contact with me during the day. I typically spend several hours on the computer (both at my desk and on the couch), and I always try to get my pups to join me. We have a large yard, and I'm outside often (even in colder months); therefore, your dog will be as well. I also take the Pack on several #PackWalks each day, often to the dog parks in Washington Square Park so they can sniff some butts and run around with their friends. Between regular walks and our outdoor space, Pack members benefit from an outsized amount of exercise and outdoor time. In the evenings, Miss Fonzie and I can usually be found on our couch, preferably with a few fuzz bucket doggos at our sides. While I love to play with my dog friends, I am a no-nonsense type of Pack leader, and expect your pet to be well-behaved. Of late, I have been learning a lot about dogs, their psychology and behaviors, and your dog will benefit from a healthy, disciplined Pack environment. I run a tight, but loving ship, so know that your pup will receive a combination of love and discipline (mostly love). You can follow the Pack on Instagram @FonziesPack to get a sense for what #PackLife will be like for your pup. The Pack only follows the Alpha, so the Pack will not follow you back. My primary bugaboos: -- Dogs that don't get along with other pups or demonstrate aggressive behaviors -- Dogs that express themselves with sound, i.e. barking / whining when left alone or during play time (out of respect for my neighbors) Please note the following when making a booking request: -- To ensure accurate pricing and communication efficiency, please include your drop-off + pickup times at #PackHQ in the request -- If interested in pick-up or drop-off service, please include logistics (address, gear, timing, etc.) in order to receive an accurate custom quote -- The Rover platform often errs on the side of underpricing a typical stay.
