My family and I went out of town for 8 days and had Alexis watch our dogs, as well as house sit. My main concern was that the dogs were not left alone for long periods of time, so I specifically asked for them to be let outside every 4 hours. As dog people, we just want our animals taken care of the same way as when we are home with them. We did not ask for anything extra.. just to spend some time at the house and to not leave them for more than 4 hours at a time. After I had expressed this, Alexis continued by leaving my dogs for 10-12 hours at a time. The first day she was supposed to be at our house at 4pm and didn’t show up until 11pm, which was 11 hours of our dogs being alone. The next day we were in Florida and boarded on a cruise, so it’s not like I could’ve just come home. She left in the morning and hadn’t been at the house all day from 10am until 7pm. She claimed that she had a zoom meeting at home and left the dogs alone and in their crates that whole time. We shared our Wi-Fi and offered for her to make herself at home, so we didn’t understand why she would need to leave them that long. I then expressed my concerns to her and asked if I need to get someone else to care for them while we were away. She said no and that she was sorry and that it wouldn’t happen again. Then she was actually at my house for 2 days so I had hope that it was going to be better. After those couple days, she continued to leave them alone again. She left them from 7:43 am and didn’t come back until 8:06 pm. I would pay any amount of money for my poor dogs not to be locked up for the amount of time that she left them. She even came in really late one night after hours and hours of being gone and didn’t even let them out to go potty that night. I continued expressing my concerns and texted her asking if everything was alright the next time she left them alone for 8+ hours. That last day she left them for a really long time and even sent me a picture of my dog….as if she was home. I knew she wasn’t home because we have an alarm system that shows the times that the doors are opened, as well as a ring. Therefore, she basically lied to me and sent a previously taken picture to make it look like she was home with them. This was my first time using Rover, as well as, allowing a stranger in my home that constantly lied to me. This made my vacation very hard to enjoy by not knowing if my dogs were getting the attention and love they are used to. We don’t even leave our dogs for those extended period of times when we are home. I originally chose her because she had so many good repeat clients and reviews, but I definitely will not be going off of that again. In summation, I would never recommend her to anyone or even use her again. It’s inhumane to call yourself a dog sitter or even a dog person when you treat animals that way.

Alexis has a simply wonderful! She has the experience and heart for putting our pups and us at ease while being apart! We received pictures and the cutest video. We’re so thankful to her because now we have the ability to take family vacations without stressing our fur kids in unfamiliar environments. We’ll be working with Alexis, again, very soon!
