Hi, My name is Alexis and I currently work a full time job from home and live in a spacious apartment in Austin, but am lacking my favorite thing in life -- dogs! I moved to Austin 6 months ago, missing my favorite hobby of fostering dogs from the Animal Rescue League of Boston. I spent my free time in college and post-grad volunteering for Diggity Dogs Service Dogs, a nonprofit organization that recruits students to train service dogs for an array of needs ranging from night terrors to severe PTSD. In doing this, I cared for a 4 month old English Cream Retriever puppy 24/7 into adulthood, and was responsible for her house, obedience, and specialty training. In the past few years, I’ve taken on on other opportunities to provide dogs (with and without special requirements) with long walks, quick training sessions, and extra affection and naps. I have a profound love of dogs and their ability to listen without saying a word. I have grown up with dogs of all types in my household, from picky shih-tzus and pugs with health conditions, to energetic and rambunctious labs.
