Full time pet enthusiast for hire(:

Pet care experience

Greetings, friends! I'm Alexis, your local *all species* pet professional (: I have had the opportunity, throughout my life, to work with animals in a professional setting across multiple fields. I take pride in sustaining a full time sitting & boarding schedule, while earning an enjoyable source of income in a field that I am immensely passionate about. *I have recently migrated from Austin to the Bay Area in California and am in search of local opportunities with pets and home/vacation home management. (I also do professional organizing/decluttering- if you or anyone you know may be interested, shoot them my way!) Background: I have never lived a day without multiple pets in my home (or mini farm)! I've grown up with goats, mules, horses, donkeys, cows, chickens, ducks, hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, the lot. As far as dogs go, i've been graced with the company of some mixed breed cuties as well as schnauzers, boxers, chihuahuas, dachshunds, german shepherds, aussies, and beagles. I have a big heart for kitties of all breeds and personalities, and would be honored to watch yours for you as well (: My parents bred AKC boxers my entire life, along with my dad professionally training Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds during his kennel master career in the military. Being around these breeds, knowing them intimately, and experiencing the training side of dog rearing truly ignited my own passions. Aside from loving animals in and outside of my home, I knew I had always wanted to lead a life in animal professions. As soon as I was able, I joined the agriculture program in school, became an FFA leader, and studied vet tech courses under this umbrella. So, I have a bit of knowledge on pet behavior and health as well. As far as other professional pet experience goes, I also worked at a groomer's/boarding facility for a couple of years. I have a deep need to rescue and care for any animal that is homeless or vulnerable, and have been lucky enough to be able to nurture that desire throughout my life. As far as experience with caretaking goes, I have pet & house sat for about 10 years now, and am in love with it! I mainly do full time boarding, home, & pet sitting, but am open to discussing any other opportunities as well. I have experience with pets with anxiety, diabetes, cancer, special developmental needs, epilepsy, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, and those who are brachycephalic. Feel free to reach out about any special circumstances at all. Thank you for reading and know that I thoroughly enjoy my time with your pets and can't wait to meet you & your fur baby! I hope that you have a swell day and choose to use my services! (: -If you need a long term sit, message me for potential discounts!- *For meet n' greets: Please request me for either a walk or a drop in. (For one pet is fine, as this is for the initial meeting.) Meet n' greets typically last 45 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes and can require an hour or more round trip drive. As someone who is not a hobbiest, but a career pet professional, I am not able to offer meet 'n greets without a charge. If that were the case, last year alone I would have done 150+ hours of non paid work. *Please be mindful of gas, tolls, and that the app takes a 25% fee from each booking. *For house sits that require my presence over 16 hours per day, there may be an additional fee, if it is not already calculated into the booking request. Reach out to me to figure out your final quote! *If your pet needs to be boarded alone (due to aggression or anxiety), there will be a fee in place for keeping bookings closed to other pets. Feel free to inquire about private bookings. *For week of cancellations: I am only able to refund 50% of the payment amount. *For a cancellation within 48 hours of the sit: I am not able to offer refunds at this time. I offer cross country pet transportation services as well. Please message me with the average mileage distance from the pick up city to the drop off city and i'll send you a quote. I am open to driving across state lines. Contact me and we'll work together to figure out the pick up and drop off location and dates. I am available for full or part time sitting, drop ins, boarding, etc. Feel free to give me a run down of your pet's typical schedule when shooting a request message (or at the meet n' greet), and I will be sure to follow that verbatim when I get the honor of sitting them! I maintain a full time sitting and boarding schedule. Daily, I may host a boarding or am staying at a pet's home with them and might have occasional walks or drop ins throughout the day to run to. For boarding prospects, I live in a quiet townhome-style apartment, alone with a large green space and dog park next to my unit. I am located next to a ton of walking areas and trails, so I am able to take your pet out as much as needed. Your pet is welcome to hang out on my furniture and sleep with me if needed. I also keep 1 large and 1 small crate for training or when I have to run out, if necessary. I do not have any other pets and will not board your pet with any others if they have any anxiety or have shown aggression to other animals in the past. It is best to be detailed about your pet's quirks when you reach out, so that we are able to formulate the best plan of action for the sit. For house sitting: I treat people's homes with the same respect and care that they do and leave everything just as I found it. I am open to any extra duties like plant watering, mail gathering, trash day, or whatever else you may have in mind. I care for your pets just as you would and can administer any meds (chemotherapy tablets, eye drops, insulin, heart guard, flea and tick prevention, vitamins, and so on). I can watch over a recently spayed or neutered pet as well. Your pet will always be on leash, in the yard with gates closed and under my watchful eye, or in the home with me with doors & windows shut & locked. I would never risk a pet escaping and have great confidence in my ability to keep them safe, happy, and healthy.

Alexi is amazing with my senior dog. So gentle and understanding. It means a lot to leave my special needs fur baby with someone I can trust.

Alexis was great. She sent pictures and gave me updates while she took care of my dogs. I will definitely book with her again when I need to.
