About Tonka Crouton
Loves to lounge, play, and nap outside, especially in the sun. Likes almost all treats, LOVES peanut butter. He's eaten Blue Buffalo his entire life, ever since I adopted him at 8 weeks old, and used to eat 1/4-1/2 cup of cottage cheese daily until he was 6, but then one day started throwing it up, so I believe he developed some sort of dairy allergy or lactose intolerance, so now he just sticks to his blue Bluffalo dry dog food; but I vary the flavors so he doesn't get bored and so he gets variety in his nutrition. Tonka LOVES children, walks, and snuggling. If you allow it, he will to go under the covers and burrow his way down to the bottom for a nap, and will actually reposition blankets to cover himself up with them by squirming around and pulling them over his body with his teeth. If you cannot find him, be careful before you sit down on a pile of blankets, pillows, or towels because he might just be the little lump underneath them! Tonka is both 'bell-trained' and 'snap-trained.' Simply snap once while giving one-word commands and he will obey. If you hang a bell on the doorknob and show him it's there just once by picking up his paw and poking the bell with it one time while opening the door, he will then ring the bell for you anytime he needs to go potty; but beware, after a few days at a new place that has a bell he sometimes starts to ring it just because he WANTS to go outside and play! The commands he understands are: sit, down-down (his command for lay down), shake, high 5, leap, kisses (point to your cheek after snapping), bed (point to his dog bed or your bed, whichever place you want him to go), wiggle-wiggle (for after showers only, this will get him to repeatedly shake so almost all the water and loose hairs are off, making your toweling much easier, don't say shake/shake off or he will lift his paw).

He has slept with my daughter from birth. He LOVES children, I think he loves their energy, but he seems to understand that little tiny infants are fragile, and will be extra careful, slow, and more gentle/less hyper around them :-)
Gets along with other dogs: Yes
Wants to play with ALL dogs, even ones 5x his size, I don't think he knows that he is a little dog ;-)
- Gets along with cats: Yes
He will want to play with them, and doesn't quite understand that a hiss means go away ;)
NEEDS 3 walks per day, WANTS 6 walks per day or to be in a fenced area where he can run and play. Grazes on food and water all day, so no set feeding times or quantities, just keep the bowls full :-) but no dairy please. No medications or health issues.
