Dog care with Vegan Biologist
Pet care experience
I have extensive pet care experience; in the past I have cared for dogs, chinchillas, birds, fish, hamsters, and guinea pigs. I now have a healthy, happy year old cat, which I found in a box as a sick kitten. I have 13 years of experience caring for dogs, both my own and pet sitting; this also includes leash and potty training. My services are dog walking and drop ins. If you are interested in also implementing some simple treat-driven training, that is something that can be included in the service (eg. improved leash training). If your dog likes to run or needs to be more active, that's great! I go on regular jogs and so exercise can be implemented into the session. My love for animals extends to my lifestyle as a vegan, by which I aim to consider animal welfare in every aspect of life. I am an activist for animal rights and run a vegan food page to encourage others to consider a cruelty-free, fair lifestyle. My approach to animal care also includes scientific elements, as I was pre-vet in college. This means that I am able to "read" your dog better and make sure its needs are met. I have experience in emergency response both in the care of humans and animals, so your dog will be in the most vigilant hands possible. My schedule is fairly flexible, including early mornings and late evenings.
Reviews
Alexis loves animals more than herself. It's simple as that. She had been a vegetarian for many years, now turned vegan, has always had pets, including a dog for 12 years, and certainly knows how to take care of puppies. As her boyfriend, I can safely assure that her cat comes first in our relationship. We talk about her as if she were our daughter. The cat her self proves Alexis dedication for animals: she was living in Italy and found this little kitty on the street, no more than 20 days old, almost blind and probably destined to death. She rescued her, brought her home, healed her and finally brought her here in the US. Now Lilla, that's the cat's name, is a healthy three year old cat with beautiful green eyes and two lovely "parents". I hope this little testimony will help you understand how much love Alexis will love dogsitting! Marco Mulattieri
Alexis is a sweet and kind young woman, who loves and respects animals. I firmly believe that she would treat a dog(or any animal) with love and kindness and also protect the dog to the best of her ability with all her resources. Because of her love of animals, she has been a vegetarian for many years. I think she would be responsible and reliable.
