They say dogs are man's best but not all dogs are friendly. Such is the case with Roscoe an eight year mature pug chihuaha mix with bug eyes, liver spots, and a jealous overbearing attitude. He's got no bite but extremely overcompensates with barks, yaps, snarls and growls, and his signature side eye dirty look that could make Clint Eastwood break eye contact out of fear. Over the years I had come to accept Roscoe's misanthropic ways and his utter disdain for any living creature that strolled passed on the sidewalk. Then came Lexi. The whole thing is still a mystery to me. Maybe it was in the way she softly called his name with such sweetness or maybe how she smiled through her eyes when she baby talked him into a whimpering overjoyed mess. All I know for sure is that ever since Roscoe met Lexi, he gave up his bark for unconditional love and belly rubs from all new coming strangers. In general, most dogs seem to gravitate towards Lexi and her pulchritudinous ways. I've seen stranger's pets gallop to her on the streets in glee the way song birds greet Snow White on a beautiful morning. It really is quite magical to see as well as sought. After all, who wouldn't want their beloved pet to have a best friend of their own?
