Zoology student home for the summer

Pet care experience

Hello my fellow animal lovers, my name is Alexia! For as long as I can remember I have been an animal lover. As a child my mother referred to me as the animal whisper. I took the title very seriously and just finished my first year at Colorado State University as a zoology major. I have had experience with animals from a tiny gold fish to lions and tigers at the In-Sync Wildlife refuge sanctuary that I worked at during high school for 3 years. I will be returning home for the summer as soon as May 13 and will be residing in the Plano area until August 15. My family has two wonderful doggies (Marty Eugene a miniature Golden-Doodle) and (Olive Bleu a miniature Bernadoodle) and they are the loves of my life. While in Texas my hours will be very flexible and I have no breed preference. I look forward to sharing my love and attention with your fur baby and can not wait to add them to my wolf pack.

Alexia seems to be a very nice young woman and spent a week with my fur babies. They seemed happy and well when I returned. The communication was not quite as consistent as I would have preferred but overall it was ok. We had a meet at greet at my home before we contracted and all seemed great. I found out when I got home, that she had brought her cat along with litter box, etc. to my home and never asked or mentioned it. I did discuss it with her when I returned and she apologized for not asking and said that she would not do that in the future. It was a learning experience for me as I now know to ask future sitters about their personal pet situations and to be sure we have a clear understanding. I think we all learn as we go and expect future experiences to be better for all hopefully.

Being new to Fort Collins and having a last minute flight scheduled, we booked Alexia to watch our dog Lucy over the weekend. Alexia was very sweet in person but we were disappointed with the service our dog received. The very first day she watched her, she sent us an update for another dog. She claimed she had gotten the visits mixed up and attached the wrong photo. It was also clear that the photos she did provide us were from the same day/time of her first visit. Her visits were not at the times that we requested, and when she logged her check-ins/outs it was very inconsistent. Because of her inconsistent visits, Lucy had an accident in her kennel. She is completely kennel trained and has never had any issues. We were never notified of the incident; the only way we knew was because her bedding had been changed. We paid a substantial amount for good service and care for Lucy, and it's unfortunate that she didn't receive the very best. We will no longer be using Rover.

Alexia was so incredibly kind and her communication was amazing. Our dogs are skeptical of other people and she took the time to find ways to get to know them. Absolutely recommend her to anyone who is considering her services!

Alexia does such a great job with Lucky! She sends daily pics and videos to keep you updated and that is so nice. We appreciate her fast response and how well she takes care of our Lucky dog when we are not at home!
