Pet care experience
Hello! I am a 25 year old student at HSU studying wildlife biology. I have an enormous amount of love and affection for all animals. I have taken care of and have enjoyed the presence of cats, dogs, horses and other furry friends ever since I was a small girl. My family has always had at least one beloved pet roaming the house – at one point we even had four! But, since I moved out of my family’s house in Seattle to live down in the Bay Area for school, I unfortunately had to say “goodbye for now” to our family’s two precious pets - Pichuu, our black Pomeranian, and Luna, our grey tabby cat. And man, I terribly miss the company of my furry companions. I have done some past animal-sitting/dog-walking in Washington state, & have been very successful with animal-sitting/dog-walking in the Bay Area since 2013. Before I was officially involved with these great Rover.com opportunities, I was working every week as a volunteer at the Berkeley Humane Society; which actually improved a lot of my skills; teaching me new ways/strategies to handle and interact with animals. Overall, I love spending time with animals! Doing things like: taking long walks outside; sitting & rolling around on the ground with animals - emulating & joining in on their cheerful playfulness (sometimes literally getting down n’ dirty); and, even taking some daytime naps with animals, are some of my favorite responsibilities when it comes to taking care of animals. Shelter volunteer at Berkeley Humane Society. Little Bit Theraputic Riding Center (horses). Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover, technically an animal lover, since as long as I can possibly remember. My experience administering medication I am comfortable giving pets any kind of medication needed. Pills, eye drops, or whatever it may be! My cat, Luna, often needs to take medication for his asthma.

Alex is amazing. Protected our dogs from being skunked and even walked them though not required.
Alex was wonderful averting skunks and dealing with an older incontinent dog. She even willingly ventured out in walks with them. I do not want to say too much or her time will quickly book and then no more vacations for me.
Alex did a great job with our dog Bridge! I would highly recommend her to anyone. She had good communication with us while we were gone and even sent pictures. She took him on daily walks and spent a lot of time with him. Great job Alex!
Alex was great....super sweet and responsible. She came and met Fenway before she stayed with him to get to know him. She asked questions and made sure she knew what to do. She kept me updated and sent lots of pictures. Fenway was tired and happy when we arrived home. Our home was just as we left it too so she took care of it well. We would definitely have Alex stay with Fenway again.

No breed preferences!! Some important things I like to know about a dog before sitting is whether they are friendly towards other dogs, or even people (more specifically children), so I can be prepared during our walks outside. And anything else that an owner might keep an eye out for on a general basis.
A typical day
Time I'll spend with your dog I will spend as much time with your dog(s) as you wish. Some owners prefer I stay at the house most of the day, and prefer for me to not leave the dog(s) alone for more than X amount of hours. While others have no preference and assure me that the dog(s) can be alone for most of the day. I am usually always able to accommodate such preferences, and my schedule allows me to be available for most of the day. The more time I get the better, I can't complain about spending time with animals. Extra house-sitting services I am willing to do any additional tasks that may need to be done while away. No problem bringing in the mail, taking out the trash, watering plants, etc.
