Professional, loving animal care

Pet care experience

***I am currently accepting clients for house sitting (at the clients home), drop in visits, and dog walking. I am occasionally boarding dogs, especially repeat clients, although I may turn down a boarding request depending on how things are going at my house. We just moved to a nine acre (fenced in!) property in Noti (25 min west of Eug) and we are in a big process of building and preparing the land to start a farm. This will be an amazing opportunity for dogs who are boarded for longer stays, but for one or two night stays it may be a little out of the way for you. Feel free to talk to me about free pickup and drop off— I often drive into town to provide animal care, dog walking or housesitting services, and I am happy to pick up or drop off your fur baby on my way. *** Hi! My name is Alex and I’m a lifelong animal lover who has had a whole lot of experience caring for dogs, and all sorts of animals! I grew up with animals and am truly happiest when I’m around my animal friends. I absolutely love working for Rover! Over the past four+ years dog sitting through this awesome site has become a passion of mine. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve gotten better at communicating, playing with, and caring for all kinds of dogs. I feel that I could take in (and take on!) even the more challenging breeds and situations. I welcome every dog with open arms, and I hope that by the end of your dogs stay with me (or my visit with your dog) that we will form a strong bond and playful friendship. No two dogs are alike, and I am ready to make adjustments as needed depending on what your dog wants and needs. I have had a lot of various and specific requests, including tooth brushing, medications, dog parks, specific meal times, etc. If you have any special requests, please don’t hesitate to ask! I have a fenced in yard, but when I take dogs out I stay outside with them anyway. I am home much of the day as I mentioned— we are starting a farm, so I work outside a lot and if it’s nice out I have my dogs and guest dogs outside with me. I am a yoga instructor as well, so I may leave my house for a few hours to teach a class but more than likely I’ll be home nearly all the time. I can’t wait to meet your dog! Currently working part time and focusing on my animal care business, so I generally have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care! I teach yoga classes a couple of times per week but my focus is building our family farm at home. I am happy to drive over to town for drop in visits and dog walking. Over the years I have established a routine for boarding and housesitting. It has become part of my life— I wake up early, I make sure I’m home enough to care for the dogs (my own included), etc. My life basically revolves around dogs :) We have a big property that is entirely fenced in. My partner and I walk the perimeter of the property about four times a day (between us) so dogs get tons of exercise! They play in the house. I typically like to crate dogs at night (including my own). I’m up early and I go to bed fairly early. I have a part time job with short shifts (4 hours long) and I teach yoga classes in town occasionally, but outside of that I am able to focus on animal care. My schedule changes week to week but I always have plenty of time to dedicate to meet and greets, walks, drop in visits, boarding and/or house sitting. My schedule changes slightly from week to week but I have established a routine with my partner to make sure animals are well cared for! My partner and I do our best to create good matches for our house as well as when I housesit. My dogs can be a bit protective of me so we like to spend some time during meet and greets introducing our dogs (if I am planning to board your dog). Safety is important and dogs can sometimes be difficult to control, so we do as much as we can to streamline things and follow solid routines, and always keep our eyes out for odd behavior.

Alex was very accommodating and communicative. She was flexible and allowed me to book an additional night last minute. She also provided complimentary pick up and drop off which was super nice of her. Thank you!

A typical day

This all depends on the situation and care instructions, as I mentioned. I have a dog, Francis, who is very friendly and makes a great playmate for most dogs. However, my partner Zach is always happy to keep Francis if there are any issues. If I am house sitting, my routine is based on the routine that pets are used to.
