In high school, I was “most likely to buy out an animal shelter”. I love dogs so much I probably will. My family got a golden doodle on my 8th birthday and I am absolutely enamored with him. I have a lot of nicknames and special voices that I use with my pup, along with lots of snuggling strategies (belly rubs, kisses, scratches behind the ear, etc). Our walks together are long because we both have to say hi to every dog we pass on the bike path. I once sat down on the sidewalk outside a cafe for 10 minutes so I could rub the belly of a baby Golden retriever (with the owner's permission of course). I tend to keep myself and your dog pretty active. I love to go hiking, play fetch, tug of war, chase pinecones and sticks, walking around the neighborhood. I also enjoy more low-key activities like sunbathing and lounging in the park. In the past couple of years, my family has been fostering animals from Foothills Animal Shelter in need of a temporary home. The dogs and cats that have stayed with me have taught me a lot about the nitty gritty aspects of pet care as well as the indescribable reward of watching tail wagging and goofy smiles. My dog, Cody aka munchkin, is 13 now and has been dealing with health issues recently as well as just getting older allowing me to get more experience administering medication and adjusting activities to his physical limitations. More than anything, I want your sweet babies to be happy and healthy when they are with me, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that happens. The dogs in my care are always my first priority and there is little else I would rather do than take care of them. I know that entrusting your (furry) kid to someone else is scary, but I promise to take the very best care of them.
