***100% ANIMAL OBSESSED***

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Alex! Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! I grew up raising English Bulldogs as a kid and I have always been such an animal lover. As an only child, I found the company of our dogs and cats to be very therapeutic. Although I don't have any of my own pets, my mom has two 120 pound English Mastiffs (Hank & Willie— yes, after Williams and Nelson!) whom I take care of when she leaves town. They are a handful--but I can handle them! I love dogs of all sizes--from teacup tiny to giant Great Danes. I started working with Rover 6 years ago when I realized I was suddenly without a dog for the first time in my life! It felt like something was missing. Not only has Rover proven to be a fantastic way for me to make money but I love fostering new relationships with both the pets and their owners! It’s always a wonderful feeling when I get a repeat client or a referral. I meet new people just about every week through Rover and lots of my clientele become friends. I have to say Rover has really changed my life for the better — I stay very active - whether it’s house sitting for one of my regulars or just doing my regular walk route during the week, and I feel more at peace and grounded these days than ever— really goes to show how good for the soul animal therapy and exercise can be! I've built a great business that continues to grow by the day. I'd love to be your go-to for your travel needs, or if you need weekday help with walks while you’re gone for work! While I was putting myself through college I worked as a nanny for several families and cared for children of all ages from newborn up to teens--even those with special needs. Essentially, I've been caring for others for years--whether its children or animals and find it very rewarding. Some other fun facts about me: I love living in Uptown New Orleans near Audubon Park, where you can find me most days. I also did a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. I love seeing live music, biking across the city, and everything food. I look forward to meeting you and your sweet pets!

I felt like my pup was in good hands while I was gone! Got updates and pictures from Alex and prompt response to a spur of the moment request for weekend care. My dog seemed very content when I got home!

Alex provided Sadie with a great experience. Alex was so easy to work with. I was running behind schedule and she can over in the evening when I was suppose to be home. Will definitely use again and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.

Alex was kind enough to put up with both of my unpredictable puppies and my crazy house and I thank her for that. I forgot to tell her to put Cthulhu back in the crate but oddly enough, he didn't destroy anything.

Information Alexandra G. would like to know about your pet

Definitely everything about their feeding schedule, what treats they are and aren't allowed to have, what furniture if any they are and aren't allowed to be on, what allergies they may have and any medications they have as well as their history -- are they rescues, have they had hurdles to get over in terms of defensiveness ? Do they get along with other dogs, children, etc? Do they do better with younger or older dogs? Are they scared of storms? There are so many things.......

A typical day

Walks, hikes, dog parks, fetch, tug of war, teach tricks, anything the dog loves to do! All of the above is of course more fun with beautiful weather. Audubon and City Park are always really fun, if you live close by! Although, I am not extremely keen on putting dogs in my car as unfortunately I've dealt with some damage in the past that was not fixable :(
