I grew up with two lab/Aussie mix dogs who both lived just past 10 years old. As long as I can remember someone in our family has always had a cat, so I have experience with them as well. While I was active duty military for a number of years, I didn’t feel I had the time to provide a proper environment/ attention to a canine, so in my spare time I volunteered at various shelters to feed/walk/play with dogs (and cats). While I have a special place for extra social critters, I also respect (and understand) those timid or older pets who sometimes need their distance (but still need love). My husband and I have what is probably the sweetest cat in the world, and are also proud new owners of our husky/dalmation mix puppy Sarge. His puppy-isms keep us on our toes but it has been so rewarding watching him grow and learn!
