Dog Lover turned Cat Sitter

Pet care experience

A little about me: I used to dog sit for friends and family a lot. I think I was especially comfortable towards skittish dogs since I'm more of the quiet and laid back type. I knew how to not overreact or give out excited vibes to over stimulate timid pooches. But my whole life changed starting May 2018, when I adopted my first cat from the ASPCA. I call my special boy TJ. When I first got him, he was so scared and defensive about everything. The sound of keys dropping on the floor would make him dart under my bed. And he wouldn't let anyone near him for more than 2 touches at a time. Flash forward to today, TJ is a brave and athletic cat. He swats fuzzy mice around like it's no one's business. And he leaps on top of 5ft tall bookcases like he is on springs. He also has become extremely brave at swatting at ankles when hiding underneath the dining table. And he's extremely loving. He learned to paw up the bed covers so he can curl up next to me when he wants to sleep. Most weekends when I'm home with him all day, and he will follow me everywhere. Even to the toilet! So because of this sweet boy, I decided going forward I will only Cat Sit. TJ still has moments when he's fearful of a playful doggy. But he gets along with other cats very nicely. He's extremely playful and likes to share his fuzzy mice. For cat parents: I understand the needs of a busy life. In my past life, I was a nerdy corporate accountant and small business owner, who now works in Real Estate. I know punctuality, reliability, and flexibility are all keys to finding the perfect sitter for your pets. On top of being loving, patient, and in tune with your kitty. Cause no kitty is the same. I am all of those. During the boarding, you will get daily pictures / video updates, to help relieve your worries. For those looking to board their kitties overnight. I only accept at max 2 cats at a time. I live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath apt. So plenty of space for your pet to roam around. I also have an enclosed terrace, in case he wants to play in a semi-outdoor space. Please see pictures of my home. I approach each cat as an individual and customize my approach depending on their own personalities. If your cat likes to be left alone, my home is a no stress environment with lot of places for him/her to hide. I actually have a guestroom that can be used primarily as their hide away space. If you cat is extremely active and loves to play, I have so many cat toys it's actually ridiculous. ***New clients, I do require a Meet-n-Greet before accepting bookings.*** This is where we will go everything in detail about your cat. I would like to know if your cat has any allergies, any diet restrictions or special needs. *** I cannot board cats with fleas*** Please have current vaccination records and perform flea check or have flea medication records prior to boarding. Thank you! Cat Drop-in visits include the following: ~30 minutes in your home *Each additional cat is an extra $5 fee ~Litter box scooping ~Cleaning bowls and providing fresh water ~Feeding ~Plenty of love and affection ~Playtime ~Cute picture taking *Special instructions will be attended to (giving oral medication, turning lights off/on, etc) Cat Boarding in my home: ~All cats must be from same household and get along well *Each additional cat is an extra $10 fee (Maximum of 2) ~Cats must arrive and leave in a proper carrier ~You provide your pets food, enough for the duration of the stay ( I do provide ceramic bowls so you do not need to bring your own) ~Plenty of cuddle time and love ~Playtime & brushing (pack at least 2 favorite toys and a brush if your cat enjoys to be brushed) ~ I have additional toys that your cat can play with as well ~Litter box will be scooped twice a day (If more than one cat, extra litter boxes will be provided) *I use Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal Cat Litter. If you prefer your own brand of litter, please provide it prior to boarding. Additional note: I'm verified through Rover's additional enhanced background check. So rest assured I'm not someone weird looking to kidnap kitties.

Alex dog watched our chow chow last year for 2 weeks while my husband and I went back to Puerto Rico to visit family. Rafa has anxiety problems and Alex knew how to keep him calm. She must have bonded with him because when I came back to pick him up, he didn't want to leave! And his fur looked amazing.
