Looking to make four-legged friends

Pet care experience

I am from NJ and moved to Austin in May of 2016. Having grown up in a large family filled with dogs and cats, I love them both dearly and have spent a lot of time walking, petting, bathing, playing with and feeding other people's animals. I also own one perfect cat named Bachan, who I am very much in love with. However, I have never been fortunate enough to have a puppy of my own! I am looking for happy, healthy, well behaved, non-aggressive and preferably potty trained canines and felines to befriend and care for, who love to go for walks or cuddle. I live in North Loop and can easily hop a bus or ride my bike to your home to help you take care of your pet while you're at work, on vacation, or just taking some time for yourself. I am very willing to pet sit even if you have more than one animal, and would love to spend time getting to know you and your beloved furry friend, so contact me and let's set up a meet and greet!

Alexandra is a great sitter! She took excellent care of my chihuahua, and was great about communicating with us. She is detail oriented and attentive. I will book with her again!

Alexandra was a life saver. She was super sweet and communicated with me very well while I was gone. Her and her sister walked my pup while my girlfriend was at work for a few weeks. She made it very easy for me to leave knowing my lil boy was in good hands. I will be rebooking her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog walker in the future. Thanks again Alexandra!

Alex took great care of our dog and two cats, and I think Ramona missed her after she left. Very thorough and took a lot of notes and let me know of any incidents. Would definitely use her services again, and I really appreciated that her sister was able to help out, more people to look after and cuddle with our pets while we were away and missing them. Zero complaints.

Information Alexandra C. would like to know about your pet

I always think it's a great idea to meet you and your pup beforehand. It's a great way to make sure I can care for your loved one in exactly the way he/she needs to be. Peace of mind is the key to a happy boarding! We can go over any special needs or instructions to make sure everything goes as seamlessly as possible. Making a list of any questions you may have for me or anything you would want me to know is always helpful too. When I meet a new client and their dog, there are some questions I like to ask before the stay. I believe that having a thorough conversation about your pet's history, behavior, temperament, level of socialization, and individual quirks, will ensure that I am a great match for you and your dog. All of the questions I ask at a meet-and-greet are aimed at giving me the best overall picture of your pet's personality, and will provide me with the information I need to provide top quality care and a worry-free visit. Also, all breeds are welcomed, all doggie visitors will feel at home! Some typical questions I will ask at a meet-and-greet are: -How long have you had your pet? Please give me a brief history of your relationship together. -Does your pet have any medical issues or special care instructions? -How often does your pet interact with other dogs? Please describe those interactions. -Does your pet pull on the leash? Do they lunge at other pedestrians during walks, or try to chase after cats, cars, squirrels, etc.? -What are your pet's favorite games to play/treats to eat? -Are they up to date on their required vaccinations? -How many times a day are they walked/fed & how much for each serving? -Does your pet get along with children? I do not have any children, but kids love to play with animals and I wouldn't want any mishaps on my walks with your dog. -Is your pet housebroken?

A typical day

My dog-sitting style is simple: treat your pup as if they were my own. I have nothing but love, kindness and respect for dogs, and will treat them thusly when they are in my care. I remember my first sleepovers as a child, and I too grew uneasy when my parents momentarily left my side. I am fully prepared to deal with your dog's separation anxiety with games, toys, treats, and cuddles if needed. I enjoy long walks and play time, and have a lot of experience giving baths.
