Hi there! My name is Alexa, but my friends call me Ali. Growing up, I was surrounded by pets and grew to foster relationships with them. My mother, has often joked with me that my spirit animal is a golden retriever. I believe that my fun loving, loyal and enthusiastic attitude supports that statement. I decided to apply to Rover as a creative gig to make money on the side, but also as a way to connect with peoples pets! I am the girl on the streets stopping to say hello to all of the cuties on their walks for fun, so why not offer what I love to do as a service?! One of my favorite characteristics of California is how pet friendly it is and I love meeting all of the cuties that reside here! Over the last 14 years, I have assisted and taken care of many pets. My family, also the animal loving type, included 2 chihuahuas, a terrier, 2 cats and 2 golden retrievers. Additionally, my mom, who is a former vet tech, and I rescued and fostered 15+ animals during my childhood including cats, dogs (all breeds and sizes), rabbits and squirrels (yes I said squirrels!). I LOVE animals and believe they should be treated just as well as humans are, with the utmost care and respect. Personally, I can relate first hand to the guilt of leaving a pet behind while working or going on vacation. It is important to me that when I'm gone my animals are comfortable and not lonely. I have hired many pet sitters through my travels and always rejoice upon receiving a text or video of my animals having a good day while I'm gone! I currently have two kitties ( sorry no in house pet sitting at my place) who I love to pieces and want a dog badly! In the meantime, I live vicariously through other peoples pets until the time is right to get my own pup again! I am flexible and happy to be a support to you and your furry friend during a time of a separation or even just for a daily walk! Let me know how I can be the best sitter/walker for you and your pal!
