Pet care experience
Hi! Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I took a step away from Rover, but as of October 2021, I’m back! My name’s Alexa and I am a California native who traveled all the way to Chicago with no family or friends to start my collegiate endeavors, and have LOVED every second of it. Growing up, I had multiple dogs: from a Chihuahua, to Shih Tzus, Poodles, Labradors, a German Shepherd, a Bulldog, and a Mastiff are just some of the lovely fur babies I got to share a home with throughout the years. I started my own dog-walking service around my neighborhood when I was just thirteen years old, and needless to say the passion I have for animals has stuck with me wherever I've gone. I've taken in and trained strays, rescued multiple pups (and cats!) from shelters, and I've actually hand-delivered three litters of puppies at home! I've also had birds (African Grey Parrot & finches), multiple fish, a tortoise, and multiple cats (I have two right now!). The point is: I love animals, but more importantly, I know how to care for them. Not only was I a responsible student (Magna Cum Laude - Loyola University Chicago ‘20), but I am a responsible pet owner, and would only do what I would want someone to do for my fur babies. If your dog is a runner, I normally start my day by running 2.5 miles, so that’s not a problem! If your dog/cat likes a slower pace to life, I have no problem with cuddling up on the couch. I have my own car so transportation is not a worry in the slightest, and I will be able to easily make multiple trips to and from your home. Oh my goodness, I think my two little chihuahuas just found their new best friend! Alexa was absolutely fantastic with them. I loved getting the photos and updates on a regular basis while I was out of town. When I got home, the place was in immaculate condition and the dogs were so relaxed! Perfection!
Alexa was fantastic with our two puppies who are characters! She sent frequent updates and photos and kept us in the loop. We returned to very happy and healthy pups - and a very clean house! We'll absolutely be using Alexa again.
I needed someone last-minute to care for my cats on a long-term basis while I was on a retreat, and Alexa was fantastic! She sent me many photos of my cats looking happy and healthy. She also followed my requests for home care perfectly. I felt very comfortable having her watch over my kids and my home while I was gone for a month. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, and you should, too!
Thanks Alexa for taking care of Zorro! She did a great job not only attending Zorro, but also helping watering my plants so they didn’t die while I was out. She’s very helpful and a nice person.

A typical day
Normally, I take dogs who enjoy being active on runs by the lake, to dog parks (if they are dog-friendly), and can never get enough play time. If your dog/cat is young, I am very experienced with leash training, potty training, and of course, fun tricks to show mom and dad! If your dog likes a slower pace to life, cuddling up on the couch to watch a movie together and getting lots and lots of belly rubs and scratches are my specialty.

Pet care is always held to the highest regard whenever I am involved. My three cats run my apartment and the same will be true whenever I am taking care of your pet(s) - they’ll always come first. No part of my routine should interrupt with theirs.
